Sync 3 update 2.2

My personal theory? They leaked it to reduce load on their servers lol..
all kidding aside, they have yet to release it from whatever reason unknown to man...
The "leaked" seems to be by someone that have access that grabbed it.
it works, and our units upgraded successfully, even after when u go to ford owner site, it see u got the new update., so its legit, if u ask me if whoever released it put a malware on there to track us and report to uncle sam ? i don't know, and don't care. Cause i finally got Android Auto

My theory is they are having fulfillment / availability issues with the hardware required for the Apple side. So they are holding up the entire update for our cars. Figure they have to have some hardware at every dealer before doing an update or letter. Just happens that Android Auto doesn't require the hub. They could have easily done a staged rollout for AA then Carplay. But customer service and marketing probably don't like that. But whatever this update gave me AA so i'm all set now.

I'm on the Nexus 6P with Android 7.1.1, and I'm not seeing any issues. I'd like to see some changes, but no issues.

My theory as well. Apple is what's holding this up, which is really frustrating as vast majority of people have Android. I'm just happy I now have Android Auto thanks to this forum. :cheers:

Yup. No issues whatsoever. My wife actually said that the call quality is better with AA than with Sync 3. Not sure if that's true, but I'm happy!

Did you resync your phone by completely deleting the Bluetooth profile?

this could be 100 true, I called Auto Nation Ford today, he told me they didnt have them on the shelf, said his computer shows only 9 in the entire country! :doh:

2nd start of the car and SIRI button is back. It's a button on the sync phone screen that let's you access SIRI directly through voice prompts. Works very well.

carplay also involves a hardware upgrade. we are still working on that.

Apple CarPlay requires a new usb hub from the dealer. You can thank Apple for that one. I assume that as soon as the correct USB hub is installed, CarPlay shows up.
