Sync 3 Update Failure

My 17 gt is on Sync 3 version 2.0 and I tried to update to version 2.3 via usb. Followed step by step the instructions from fords website. Plugged it in the correct usb and it seemed like it was going good because the top of the radio display said updating. 30 mins into it the car auto shut off. Turned the car back on and the radio display now says update failed? Is there something I did wrong?

My guess is you shouldn’t let the car turn off, the update should restart the unit not turn it off. Try pressing on the clutch every now and then (or brake if not manual) to keep the car from turning off.
