Why would you lock a thread full of information?IMO, This thread should be locked!.. Just sayin!
I do recognize that you have helped many people - you'll notice I never mentioned that. I was referring directly to a jailbreak that keeps being mentioned, but nobody has ever seen a how to or offering to do it for a cost. I'm sure there are good reasons for that, and I don't doubt that its fully working because you guys have proven that, it was just my opinion after being around "jailbreaking" on various platforms going back ~10 years, that the hype on something like this goes away as time goes on but no new info or offerings are released. Its the same way (or was), with Apple devices, Android, Blackberry, etc.that goes back several years. My comment was not meant to be a direct jab, but mainly a comment of the nature of how these things go.Since you contacted me there, you may be aware of the F-150 thread where I help countless people with install issues, for free, because of the back-end knowledge of Sync we have as a result of the exploit. For example, I resolved the MEM_ERR03 issue that forced many people to get new APIMs. Even the dealer is/was swapping out APIMs for it .... If that's not doing anything, I don't know what is.
Grab a VIN from a 2016-2018 Ford vehicle that has Sync 3 already and add it to your FordOwner garage. This will allow you to download the correct update directly from Ford by going here. Just make sure to switch it from your car to the newer one that is being used to get the update.what's the best solution for getting software updates for people that did a sync 3 swap?
scanning via wifi does not work. and since my VIN does not have SYNC3 attached to it, i'm not able to download any update files directly from Ford so i can do it via USB. there's an annoying message about updating that pops up every time i start the car that i'd like to get rid of. i've tried disabling wifi completely as well as auto updates, but neither fixes it
thanks!
You have a 18/19? Which lines had to be changed?I have the same issue. @HextallS550 and myself determined that my mode switch is bad in the bezel itself.. We tried everything in FORSCAN to no avail...he even remoted into my laptop to see for himself that all the FORSCAN was correct but no dice on anything from the mode switch...all other switches function fine.
All good, information is power. It appears that it’s differentNo I have a 17. However, I posted that as a possible cause. I'm not sure if the FORSCAN coding is the same for my year to your year.
Figured it out!! When I first connected to the car I didn't follow the instructions and flip the switch, so only a couple of modules loaded and of course not the modules that I needed. All good, information is power. It appears that it’s different
Probably has the obd connector that you have to flip between MS and HS can.Flip the switch?
