SYNC 3 and Apple Car Play

Does anybody here have a GT350 with Sync 3 and Apple Car Play?? Or is it going to be a future upgrade?:shrug:

our cars now have the capability to do these sort of things "over the air"

if your car is connected to wifi - that's all it needs.

Much obliged! I'll need to look into that with my Canadian car. I know my Jeep doesn't connect but in the states they are able.

yeah the new system is leaps and bounds ahead of the old one, i think they were a bit smart and future-proofed themselves this time around with more capabilities.

So would my the Waze app on my phone show up on the Nav screen? Sorry, I haven't read up on what this car play deal is.

some apps will have that sort of functionality. I haven't looked yet either.

My wife and I just upgraded our Nexus 5's to a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for me and a iPhone 6S Plus for her. I'm really looking forward to Android Auto/Apple Car Play.

Nope. Just the Apple's maps app... But you will still hear Waze in the background.

that being said...... I think the stock built in navigation is amazing and should be a requirement. :-)

just bought the wife a car with apple carplay. It's awesome, by far the best car infotainment system I've come across. It's actually pretty simple, uses Siri through your car controls to handle all the hands free stuff. It also does a sorta screen mirroring from your iphone onto the cars display. You can press your screen to have text messages read and then do a hands free text reply also. It's just simple is the best way to describe it and does what I need it to do.

You can update over Wi-Fi or the old fashioned way and download the updates to a USB stick then to SYNC 3 through one of the USB ports
