Sync 3 and my cell phone connection

I have a flip phone. AT&T Samsung Rugby 4 that it says is compatible with the Sync 3. I've had my car since May and yes my phone book and all is connected but the problem is more than not when I ask for contact to call it rings my phone and talks on phone (in my pocket) and not speaker on car. Sometimes it will go ahead and talk through speaker. I've also found out that when I first start car if I make a call through voice Sync 3 if it goes to phone and I hang up if I call again every thing works fine through speaker in car till I shut off and get out of car. So when I start car I automatically call a recording thats at local time and temp and when I hear it on cell phone in pocket (if didn't go to car speaker) hang up through Sync 3 and know all calls from that point on will come through speaker on car till I shut off and get out of car again. No locals seem to be able to find problem. It appears all settings are set right on phone and Sync 3 they all say. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hey johnny1,

Is there an option for the phone to receive software updates? There may be connection issues since the SYNC 3 system is running very current, up to date software, and the phone may not be able to keep up with it. Is there an option to pair a second phone to see if the problem still exists?

Thanks FordIVTeam checked and phone says it has up to date on software. But I'll try a second phone. I have an idea its the phone just not having all the current gadgets being a flip phone. Have checked all settings with the Sync 3 have been gone over several times and appear to be set right. Gotten used to voice calling recording of local time and temp every time I start car knowing I will stay connected to voice on Sync 3 as long as don't shut car off and open door to disconnect connection.
