Exactly.

And I'm 99% sure that Sync3 will play videos.

yes it probably does.. but I see no reason why sync2 cannot play videos.

Well, the only slight disappointment I with the entertainment system, is that it cannot do what all other mp3 players in existence can: Play all songs on a USB stick in the order that are on the drive and when it's done with one folder, skip to the next etc.

The stereo sets that I had in both my 2006 and 2012 Ford Focus had no problem doing that. :/

And also: No ogg-vorbis or flac support? Seriously? (But I am hardly disappointed by that these days as companies like Apple seem to ignore these formats as well.)

Ok, I have made some tests.

Blu-Ray movie - does not play
DVD - to be tested once I am back home
DVD with UDB file (Movie)(not sure what kind of file format this is) - does not play
Music video on iPod - Plays
Music on iPod - Plays
Music via Bluetooth - Plays
Music Video via Bluetooth - does not play

In the menus, select USB (in my case, the Nano). Then one can select between Music and Movies. Select Movies. It then plays the Movie, but only from the Nano, not any discs (as of yet).

Could you please check what languages are supported?

I'm not interested for the UI (I always prefer english) but I do interested about the phone contacts catalog. All my contacts are written with greek letters. So how will Sync2 display them?
As a chinese question marks? (I fear yes)

As far as i know only English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian and Swedish are among the languages that works on the EU cars. Without checking, the german cars have the usual of English, German, French and something else. I use English.

Being Swedish, some of my contacts and nav addresses are written using Swedish letters like Å Ä and Ö and the system have absolutely no problems in displaying that, despite me having everything set to English. It can also write the german ß (double s).

Just reminded me that the english voice in the nav is the same as in my wifes Volvo and is terrible when pronouncing german names.... :lol:

Yes but even Swedish are among the primary EU languages.
Greek is almost forgotten from electronic devices.....only mobile phones support it....

As far as I know, apple stores video at .mp4 format.

Hint: I would recommend you download an .mp4 video from the internet, (or convert with a program) and store it to an Android device, and try.

Android plays all type of formats.

All I can say about the Sync2 system is that the rental Ford Escape I recently had in the US had one and I was pretty impressed. Of course my RS has absolutely no electronics, but compared to the iDrive in my Dad's M3, it seemed more intuitive and capable...

Personally I think touch is a horrible application in an automotive environment. I will likely miss my MMI dearly and can only hope that Ford's voice control system works anywhere decently.

Honestly I couldn't agree more. Tactile feedback and predictable position for controls is vital when operating them without looking. That's why I expect I'll end up using the buttons and dials to control most HVAC/media in the Mustang. At least most of the buttons and dials are still physically present.
