I got the same offer but didnt go with it. Noticed it's being sold from a pawn shop and talked myself out of it. lol

Yes I noticed that also then went to their store to look at all the other items... after looking at everything else they seem legit and not an actual “Pawn Shop” but better to be safe than out $500

I’m curious. What is the benefit of this?
Technically it allows the shock to do its job better because it removes the deflection of the stock mount. Its beneficial for guys with modded suspensions to gain a better ride and potentially more shock travel if the mount allows.

The downside is aftermarket shock mount are not sacrificial design like stock so in any situation where things break, the sheet metal will actually tear before the mount does. The stock mount is designed to fail so this doesn't happen. However. a case such as this is pretty unlikely assuming you are using bumpstops and cut to the right height.
