I picked up a lightly used set of CF wheels with P4S’s, Ford Racing 5300-W springs, some R calipers and G-LOC pads. Took it out for the maiden voyage yesterday and man, I was shocked at how compliant it was over all types of road conditions. Much better than stock for sure but I seriously could not believe how well it rode.

I can’t imagine it was the springs, so MAYBE the CF wheels? This is my first interaction with a CF wheels, so I’m not familiar with their characteristics. Obviously changing tires, wheels and springs at one time makes it difficult to pinpoint . Maybe a combination. Thoughts?

It did lose some of the sharp steering feel with the Cup2’s, which I do miss but it’s all a trade off. But that was expected.

The tires make a big difference too - PS4S are much more stable on the road and don't follow road imperfections like Cup2s.

The springs are significantly different, especially in the rear. I noticed huge difference on street driving, despite being lower, it handles imperfections better. Softer rears. Im sure with the lighter wheels and PSS that is amplified.

But there is a downside. The significantly softer rears do shift the balance to more understeer. It’s noticeable. I am doing the sway bars next to bring the car back more neutral.

All in all, I like them. Most times when you lower a car, it’s worse on the street. This is the opposite. Just comes with some understeer.

Ya know, I did feel an overall balance change. I wasn't pushing it or anything but there was a difference. I wasn't sure what it was but I think i was just shocked at how much nicer it rides but it seemed to have lost some edge.

Being that its a street driven car, Ill take it. It rides better than the Ford Performance Track handling package that my GT had for sure.

But your right, there is some tradeoff. Just like pulling the PS2's off.

Haven't tried them...thinking about it...but quite a bit of gooooood feedback on the BMR handling springs for this car. Linear spring, same drop as the 5300's.

the lighter the wheel the less the suspension has to do to keep it on the ground (basically) so just putting a wheel that is waaay lighter on a car will make it feel better.
