I know this is an older post, but I had a surging problem as well that started about 6 months after I installed a vortech supercharger. The mass airflow sensor being cleaned helped a little bit, but what finally solved the issue for me was having a tech at a shop do a crank sensor relearn. Since that was done the surging issue has gone away. I hope this helps I know how frustrating of an issue it was for me.
