Here's some basic SuperCharger questions that I have regarding them:

What sort of maintenance is required on the ProCharger style systems?

Do they require oil changes and such like other Supers I've seen for other cars? How do they handle long road trips (700+ miles) do they overheat/have issues with CAI on long distance driving like that?

How do they handle the cold? Are 0 or sub-zero starts an issue for blowers?

If you plan on driving the car over long distances at a time, should one opt away from a CAI? (I've seen it said that depending on the CAI, extended driving can cause problems.)
Just change the blower oil every 5-6,000 miles.
Super easy to do, just a simple drain plug on the bottom, fill hole on top.

No issues driving it 20 miles, 200 miles, or 2,000 miles at a time.
Blower comes up to temperature, and stays there no matter what your doing.

Our blowers have been tested in controlled testing down to -40 degrees. We have no issues with the cold temps. :)

What type of oil? And is that something one can do in their garage (disposing of the old oil correctly)?

Tune ?

Other thing - I assume that this is what the car dash displays and not what you have actually measured via odometer & fuel pump. It makes sense that if the car is calculating fuel flow off of 'injector on' time, then a blower (increased back pressure to the injectors), or a tune ('lying' about injector on time?), would make the car read optimistic.
It is not just a tune that allows more MPG. i had an older 93 GT that I ran a basic 5Lbs Vortech on with a simple FMU to help with fuel. Mileage went up especially on the freeway. I ran it to 110,000 miles before I sold it, never one issue.

For oil I ran Mobile 1 and changed it every 3k miles. The blower used the engine oil so no need to change it separately.

I think any performance part will hurt your MPG simply because you're foot becomes heavy. :D

Not much oil to depose of.
Its only 6 ounces. (less then a can of RedBull)
But its one drain plug, and a flat blade screw fill plug :)

Id rather two 10 blower oil changes, then 1 motor oil change. :)

How does the Procharger do in sub-freezing temps? My car is my daily and I'm not going to park it just because it's cold. Beefcake mentioned Paxton/Vortech doesn't recommend driving in very cold temps.

Only real downside I ever dealt with is, squeeking and broken belts.

I know Vortech recommends against it, but I drove my Vortech Blown M3 (VF Engineering Kit) for 3 Maine Winters (not daily, but quite frequently) and never had an issue with it. I do not have a heated garage.

How difficult is it to change the oil on the procharger? do you have to remove it? Can it be done easily without lifting the car?

They are loud, belts are annoying, extra stress on your crank, etc.

I've had nitrous, roots/twinscrew, centrifugal, and turbo/s... Turbo is by far the way to go IMO on boost.(Had nitrous/centri/twinscrew all on the same vehicle switching out)

Roots/Twin's are fun for 500-600rwhp cars, get heat soaked pretty easily, so 1/4 mile pass and gotta let it cool down. Centri's are fun at the track/roll racing, and can get hotlapped for the most part with not much drop in power. With people starting to finally using "torque boosters" on centri's.. They are IMO the way to go if you want blower.

I personally like turbo, nice and quite, all the benefits of a centri but none of the downsides.

There are arguments for all setups, but it is VERY rare I hear someone with turbo's go "I wish I went blower"

I would also like to hear about superchargers operating in cold temps. I'm interested in getting a procharger on my car when I get it, and my car will mostly be a daily driver. I live in ky and right now it's cold as balls out!

I have already answered this question just a few posts above. :)

We do testing to temperatures down to -40 degrees.
Our blowers do not care about cold temps.

3min job, and yes you can easily get to the bottom of the blower :)
Easier then putting on a spare tire. :)
