My GT is not a limited production car.

simply put...its a common variant of the Mustang that is better suited to Modifications and personal customization. Its purpose in its build and end capabilities is decided by me. Its value is what it is for my self gratification.

A GT350 is limited run specialty car. Better suited being treated as such. And it is already purpose built as is for daily driving with track capabilities. Its value is not only my pride in ownership but also the appreciation from others of what it is, what its meant for and the historic appeal of the unique motor.

Also...I have different cars for different purposes. Therefore that are maintained the same way...definitely not treated the same way.

I also appreciate spare parts for those that would wear more under normal or even extreme use...so...

please boost away.

why is it better suited? GT350 is just a higher starting level.....GT500 is the next highest starting point. Thats like saying everyone that bought a Ford GT and modded them is dumb. THAT is a limited car.....10k units a year isn't limited.

Look at it like this.... The GT was a blank canvas for me to play around with.

The GT350 is a finished work meant to be appreciated as is.

Of course this is comparing both to Art. One is my Painting the other is already a work of art.

Subjective? Yes. It was meant to be.

Only finished in YOUR eyes.

I thought the question in this thread was "can it be supercharged" not whats your opinion of doing it.:faint:

I'm not against boosting. Make no mistake. My take on this is to do it properly... Prepare a motor specifically for that application.

Or keep my name in your contacts list for boosting this motor...I 'd like to have spare parts.

Boost away.

you cannot fathom the amount of "wear" that 3-20 minute track sessions (1 day) puts on a car. its a WOT almost the entire time, putting EVERY component of the car to the test the entire time, heat of every fluid and contact on contact metal is at the MOST extreme it will be, for long durations.

how long is a highway blast or a 1/4 mile sprint, or even the 1/2 mile like I do? 9-13 seconds at a time?

1 single track day is 3600 seconds of roadcourse torture, Vs 327 11 second track passes/highway blasts..

Well, you certainly wouldn't drive as much as I do. I would average maybe 17 to 25miles 5days a week then maybe on some weekends hit a track . With one of my cars. So for you.... Boost.
Still the boost would have to be mild on the OEM motor.

Or swap to milder cams and stronger pistons at the very least. Then add boost.

Get the ECU tweaked properly and have at it.

Take my contact info just in case. ☺

One would have to question why a person would want a SC on a free revving FPC..?

Once that is revealed, you might have the answer to the question.
A lot More power. The only reason anyone adds boost to anything, be it a Ferrari or a Mistang gt.

The gt350 is built to be the ultimate NA American car.

But if someone wants to add boost, go ahead. Just don't go crazy.

Or...

Wait for the GT500. And have a factory purpose built boost beast to start with.

The speculation on a motor no one here knows anything about is amusing.

Guessing...You didn't see the Engine displayed on the other thread with highly detailed view of all the internals?

it's fun to speculate on these sorts of things, but I'm sure most of us understand that the reality is a "wait and see" situation.

Someone will snatch one up and strap a blower to it, how it responds should be interesting. I'm sure we will see just how tough the internals are in short order.

I'd guess 4-6psi, around 650-700HP at the crank would be wringing every drop out of the stock internals, but time will tell.

The individual that decides to yank the motor and beef up the internals is probably going to be in for some hard learned lessons at first on all the fine tuning Ford has done inside the engine.

If I had one, I'd be more inclined to use a sneaky nitrous system like JMS chip offers. 100hp+ for when you want to make damn sure that feisty Z28 never sees anything but tail lights.:D

And honestly, so far, this thread is far too much of people trying to cram their opinions down others throats.

TO EACH, HIS OWN.:headbang:

The topic is a question....You can choose to answer it closed... with a Yes or a No... or give your reason why with your own qualification of an answer....

No one knows anything about the motor beyond the compression and a bit of the forged internals....But what we do know about high compression and boosting.... can qualify some answers.

I don't see a problem. The answers and the back and forth has been....

Interesting.

Please everyone. Boost.

If it can be done sounds like it would be amazing. A light weight mustang with 600+ HP and built for the track.
