Sunroof/heated steering wheel

I would love a heated steering wheel! Gets cold in Denver, would be nice to have a quickly warm wheel in the mornings.

I've never understood the point of heated steering wheels. That's what gloves are for.

All of that^ can be done with a 1" crack in each window. (except star gazing)


I've opened my moonroof in my BMW about 3 times.. and that was only to hear my exhaust better. (It was standard)

When I had my Focus which had a moon roof, I used it at least what seemed like 50% of the time. For all those reasons you quoted. And no matter how little you crack your window, rain still gets in. Also, having a vent up top for longer rides is also a lot quieter than cracking your standard window

Those are nice, but it's still noisy. And I would never put those god awful ugly things on a car. They are on my truck, and were on there when I bought it. Probably wouldn't pay to put them on but they are nice for venting and keeping rain out but moreso they are nice to keep mud spatter into the truck down to a minimum if i have the window down lol

Yeah I think people are missing the point of luxuries. They're there to make the car more enjoyable, not just livable from point A to B.

I would have gotten the glass roof if they had offered it this time around. As it is I couldn't imagine not having the moonroof in my truck, it's super nice when the temperatures are good - would gladly take one on the Mustang.

I too think a hole in the roof is completely pointless. If I wanted wind blowing crap around my interior, I'd buy a convertible.

Every time I open the one in my Jetta it reminds me why they invented A/C and I close the thing and shut the shade.

I get that different people like different things, but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone in their right mind would enjoy such a thing.

Agreed, I want a glass roof as well, maybe even a retractable option at some point.

Honestly I don't want them to come out with the glass roof for another few years so I can enjoy my '15 for that much longer..

I'd love to install an aftermarket Webasto sunroof after reading some reviews, but I'm curious about the loss of rigidity... I have my sunroof open on most clear days. It adds some much needed light to a pretty dark cabin.

Well, I don't turn Re-circulation on, so I do get SOME fresh air. Or at least I think that's how it works. If not, perhaps I just enjoy being oxygen deprived.

Although I do live in Oregon, it gets into the low 60s at night even in the summers. There are rare times I drive with the window down a smidge, but then I have to keep the heater on high to keep warm. :help:

I think the big glass roofs are cool though, like a convertible without the turbulence. Although I'd likely never buy one in a performance car, but in a Ford Explorer, it would be fitting.

It appears you live in Portland. I live in Atlanta. I bet if you lived here for a week during the summer you might change your mind. For the first five to ten minutes AC isnt even touching the heat inside the car. They call it Hotlanta for a reason..With all windows down, sunroof back it makes the car livable until the AC gets kicking. In addition there are a good five months down here that if you have the sunroof/windows down its the perfect temp inside the car..No AC/Heat needed.

I definitely agree that it should be an option, however. People should not be forced into it if they wont use it or their height causes a problem. Charge the people that want it an extra 1k and be done with it.

I had and have sunroofs in several versions at any car were it was available and use it every time if not raining or much to cold. After a few years all AC´s went dead or had problems sometimes, with a sunroof you can drive in hot summer and still feel not much uncomfortable unless you have to drive fast on autobahn and must close it.
The small KIA has it in glass but it´s not like the newer VW and others simply get outside above the roof and makes much airdrag; no it´s like the old fashioned sunroof sliding into the roof. I´m 6.4 and fit in without any problem. Sit in a Jaguar/AUdI/Corvette/BMW and no chance to be comfortable with sunroof and this shit little KIA has a heated steering wheel too, great things and worth the price.

Drove the 2013GT conv. for a week and i did´nt like that complete open car when i will park or i have to close it completely. I forget it to close when driving into a park deck or underground parking deck,shit..a glass sliding/lifting sunroof is more practical in most situations for me.

In the Camaro the sunroof is nice but i did´nt fit in, without it´s ok. Challenger is ok with roof.
I would definately buy a full functional sunroof in a Mustang; but the fix glasroof in the 2012-2014 i dont like that nearly useless gimmick! for a heated wheel there is no need.
Corvettes system is a bit fun but still not very practical for me.

low 60s is perfect cruising weather. It looks like you just prefer stagnant air

Driving with the windows down just makes all the random junk lying around in the car blow around everywhere (and whenever I have dry cleaning hanging from the hooks behind the front seats, which is most of the time, the dry cleaning bags blow around so much that it's deafening at anything above 30 mph). And also you get wind in your eyes which makes them tear and makes it impossible to see.

Plus, I do a lot of driving through tunnels and industrial areas where you don't really want to be smelling the air anyway.
