So there I was, installing the subframe alignment kit and bushing kit... and I go to remove the driver side sub frame bolts and... that can't be right--the front bolt isn't there. I have no idea how long it's been missing but it's worrisome. I haven't touched those bolts before this so idk what could cause it to "fall out."

Anyone experienced these bolts getting sheared off from something??? It's a big ass bolt, can't imagine it breaking under even the roughest driving situations.

Edit: if it sheared off the threaded part of the bolt would still be in here so idk.. just weird.

Those bolts require 129 ft-lbs of torque too, so they shouldn’t fall out very easily. Is it possible that an alignment shop may have messed with them? Try checking the torque on the others to see if they’re loose. Maybe start at 70 ft-lbs and work your way up from there to see how tight they are.

Anyone else did suspension work on the car? Did you buy it new?

Front driver side is the one that often gives people's fits and people cross thread.

Grab a KellTrac IRS stud kit and be done.

Dang, glad you found it before something got messed up.

Might need to install my alignment bushing this week.

Original owner, done all the work myself outside of alignments.

Went to Ford this morning for a replacement bolt and they couldn't find it... they found one for the 18+ but they're different bolts. Might have to look at that KellTec thing unless anyone has a diagram for the rear subframe or part number.

EDIT: Found it. Posted in case anyone in the future needs them.

No way those bolts can shear. They are to big too much torque on them. It was probably fitted without the right amount of torque during an alignment, sometimes those guys make mistakes.
