I will test drive a PP GT before the end of the week. My 2 fav makes now are alan mulally/mark field's One Ford and Akio Toyoda's Lexus.

So it pained me, as a 65 Mustang (roadrace rodded), a 69 cougar (cruiser), 14 Fiesta ST (canyon carver) to say that non- PP GT failed to impress me. I hope a PP GT will be. I am afraid that I will be only satisfied with a special model (shelby, boss,'cobra).

If not, then I might just get a PP ecoboost as a daily driver later. I like the lighter front end and it is easier to mod a turbo car anyway.
Yeah you can't go wrong either way. It sounds like the 350 is right up your alley though.

see this is exactly what i love reading about. the insecurities and constant justification of why they did what they did. like anyone really cares
This is funny coming from someone who on this very thread called other people nuts for not choosing the GT. Oh, and has baited people on several other threads with similar comments just so he can claim that "he doesn't care."

Yeah, riiiiight...

i wasnt sure wtf you were talking about, but a quick flick of "find more posts by anvil" refreshed my memory. too bad the thread got locked.

again, not my problem, you're the one that made your choice. i can sleep like a baby at night knowing that i made the right decision. and if i feel like i didn't make the right decision, it's very easy to fix it.

look how easy it was for that guy to fix his problem, he traded his EB for a scat pack chally. i bet he sleeps like a baby at night too.

... just kidding about the poverty specs of course ;)

I m wondering who had decided to go minimalist.

I have other cars so this will just be a toy.

I am thinking of a base manual GT with GT performance package, recaro seat, and maybe just adding the reverse sensing system, depending how bad is the rear view. I drove the 2.3 a couple months back as the owner had not let people drive the GT. So, I am going to test drive again, now a GT with that minimalist specs.

I am wondering who also went in my direction and if they wish they had gone with Premium and/or more equipments. Thanks in advance.
 9 page thread in 3 days....SMH. A lot of us have your car...well minus the reverse sensing garbage ;) Welcome to May 2014 when we ordered them...catch up

You have utterly and hopelessly missed the point.

Strangely enough, I am actually infatuated with the idea of a basic model GT, with the PP at most.

I want the yellow but dont even have to have it since it is an option

I care about infotainment

I was originally just going to go Base GT w/PP but the tiny screen and ugly buttons surrounding it really bothered me. And I decided I finally want a full infotainment setup instead of just using a cradle for my phone all the time. Leather w/heated & cooled seats are just added bonus's of premium. If there was a mid-tier option that just gave me the 8" infotainment system but without all the other premium options I would take that in a second w/PP. Unfortunately I'll hit right around $40k OTD when originally was going for like $34k OTD...ouch.

LOL, i just got that OEM trunk mat a few weeks ago from ebay as well. i think it was 70 bucks? so overpriced for what it is... but i guess its worth it if i ever decide to put dirty stuff in the trunk.

Those Pony projection lights are sweet though....:)

Great question. In my mind, I knew I wanted the GT to leave no room for regret on the powertrain side, as well as the performance package to leave no room for regret on the performance side.

At that point, I needed to figure out if I really wanted the premium package. At first glance, there was really nothing I wanted out of it except for the pony projection lights. See screenshot below.

HOWEVER, a coworker mentioned that the cooled seats are worth the cost of the premium package alone, so I gave my dealer a call to add the premium pack.

Unfortunately he wanted me to come in to redo all the paperwork, so I thought this was a sign that it was not meant to be, and I didn't want to risk losing my place in the build queue.

The reverse sensing system is not required, since a backup camera is standard on all Mustangs.

I invite you to look at that premium pack screenshot again. When you think about it, it's all fluff.

This is why I think all the guys that didn't get the GT and instead got an EB premium are nuts.

When I look to upgrade (2017 model year), my ultimate would be a base GT with security system & the premium mirrors (for winter purposes mainly, but the ponies are pretty cool, too). I'm curious to see if anyone will successfully make the mirror swap on a base car, as that would make my decision very easy.

The mirror swap was a simply plug and play on my 2014 (I have a premium V6, but the heated mirrors were only an option), and hopefully it is the same in this generation.
