Just put a deposit over the weekend on a 19 GT350 and the stripes have swirls already most likely from not using proper rags. They told me they will try and get them out. I am not too confident. Anyone have this situation or luck removing the swirls?

I am thinking that if they don’t come out is for them to replace or I walk away. Interested in others experiences.

Unfortunately you cannot buff vinyl. My concern would be that they would scratch up the paint while trying to fix the stripes and ultimately fail at doing so anyway. I would either live with it (and ask for a higher discount) or have them cover the cost of replacement.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Sounds like someone used a product on the paint/stripes that was not friendly. If they can't get that out, I certainly would not live with it.

i dont know if there is a difference between the matte or glossy stripes, but the matte ones scratch when you look at them. my new R came with scratch-swirls on one section of the stripes from the out of state dealer, and realizing they were not coming out, the dealer finally agreed to send me a check to have this one section replaced. and yes, OEM stripes are costly relative to Big Worm graphics, but you can purchase by sections too.

Only thing I've read several posts Big Worm won't match the OEM ones exactly. But they are better quality and if you had one with no stripes and put there stripes completely on the car they would be way cheaper and as I said they say better quality. But you can't just replace a section and get a OEM match.

yes that is correct, big worm is not identical to OEM spec, when I spoke to them they said they just can't do it because of copyright issues. but you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference if you replaced the entire set with theirs, the differences are very very miniscule.

you can get the OEM in sections though, as I did.

I had a similar issue with the swirls on stripes. I went with the big worm stripes. Here are the before/after pics.

McKee’s Jeweling Wax will get the swirls out of stripes easily
With a soft pad and random orbital machine.
Works awesome on paint to make it look like glass. My stripes
Looked terrible when I got my car and they look perfect
now even with a Scangrip LED light.

I am considering making the same change on my 2018 LeadFoot. Do you mind saying how much it cost to have the OEM stripes removed and the new ones applied?

I was able to polish out all of the scratches and swirls in my stripes. I used a random orbital with the appropriate pads and compound. The lightning blue stripes may be more forgiving than black.

It cost me $50 for removing the OEM stripes and $250 for installing the new ones.

I just pulled my stripes off. Problem solved.
When I first bought mine I was planning to remove my stripes. My wife convinced me that the stripes are part what makes the car look like a Shelby, so I have grown to like them. This is coming from someone who owned a Black Viper without stripes for 18 years, so I was definitely NOT a stripe guy.
