And there is usually a 2 to 4% difference in every run.

When we were dynoing engines for customers we would always use the second pull because it was always 5 to 10 HP higher.

Only accurate way to test for that small of an increase, is MPH at a drag strip.
I already posted this, but since you like to pick and choose what you'd like to read and respond to, I'll say it again.. and for the last time..

If it was done on a track there would be track conditions, weather conditions and driver error coming into play. All of those are variables that wouldn't exist or affect the outcome while using a corrected dyno cell in a controlled environment.

Anyone who thinks they can more accurately measure 10hp in a 3800lb car on a track than on a dyno is delusional. End of story as far as I'm concerned.

Like I said 10 HP on these cars is in the margin of error.

Nit pic away

As far as choosing x vs h pipe, I've had both. I bought a 2015 and installed an x pipe w/ pypes bomb cat back . This sounded awesome like a nascar, loved it. I traded that in for a 2018 and install the h pipe w/ mbrp race cat back. This sounded awesome as well. I preferred the H pipe because to be it sounded more "adult". Now I have a 2021 M1 and i went with the H pipe and Mbrp race again.

Fwiw..Steeda dyno'd a gen 3 with their X and H pipes. The X made an extra 10whp from 3k rpm all the way up. The H made nothing over the factory resonator.
And then when they did the test on the 2024 with the same pipes, it only showed a 3hp difference between stock, X, and H

The difference isn't that great between an X or H unless something else is going on (timing jump, temps changed, etc). The big improvement is either of them over a plain dual exhaust.

Engine Masters did an episode on it as well

Length of the crossover doesn't really matter, it's more the distance from the header collector.

Where the engine dyno sits might interfere with the X/H pipe would be if it was in the same place on an actual S550

I agree. I can completely endorse the H-Pipe sound. It makes it sound like an old school muscle car.
We posted the install and sound test.

Always take manufacturer’s statements with a grain of salt. Dyno’s can be manipulated.
