I’ve ordered a 19 GT premium, PP1, Roush Stage 1 with the 10R80 10 speed auto. I’ve recently been reading about unhappy auto owners regarding heavy clunking downshifts, hesitation while hunting for gears and lurching between park and reverse. I need an auto as it’s a DD and age ( I’m 67) so a switch to a 6 speed is not in the cards. QUESTION: are you all who have a new 10 speed OVERALL happy with your purchase and if so, why (please be honest).
I have a 2019 GT premium with 10 speed auto and I find it to be a real blast to drive. After owning C5 &C6 corvettes with manual trans, this is the most fun I have had since I was 16 years old.(i'm 69) Went to automatic because I was tired of shifting gears. Have had the car since October and have no problems, no issues at all.

5 speeds means I can go faster with my manual steering and manual brakes...
Is some of that inventory,..... Retired?

The A10 is a blast. Heavy dual mass flywheel makes bone crushing shifts in Drag mode. Like being able to powershift with out fail every gear all the time. Love it!!!

I love my 2018 Mustang GT A10, however, I too have the harsh downshifts. Mine are from 3-1 (btw, the dash digital display will show 3rd gear a few seconds after the trans. has downshifted to 1st). My only relief was a few months ago when my dealer reset (erased) the KAM (Keep Alive Memory). It shifted much smoother for a month or two, but since has reverted to the harsh 3-1 downshifts (it skips 2nd, always). I guess that means my driving style (I am 70, don't drive fast) results in the adaptive software thinking that I "deserve" the harsh downshifts. I think my next step is to erase the KAM again. Here (finally!) is my question: Can anyone recommend a good, reasonable priced OBDC-II (or whatever its called) tool that will allow me to periodically erase the KAM myself? BTW, my service writer told me there was no update to the TCM. Not sure I believe him.

I'm pretty sure the dual mass flywheel is not on the automatic cars. they have a flexplate. flywheels are for manual trans cars and always have been.

LOEzel, you shouldn't need to reset the KAM all the time. I suspect there is a software update that your service advisor is oblivious to. It is totally normal to go from 3 to 1 on downshifts but the car should be nearly stopped before that happens. If I didn't see the numbers on the dash, I wouldn't even know it downshifts. Can't feel it at all. My car was built in December, 2017 and they did the PCM update in June.

Very nice collection sir! Obviously a Ford guy.
To an extent. I buy the car that best does what I like. Gm never really had a competitor for the lightning. The 68 was my grandmas and im the second owner.

When it comes to fast 4 doors I've never owned a ford. Ive had a wrx, ctsv, and an s4.

Suv's other than classic broncos ive only owned tahoes.

But I do lean blue most times lol

Don't mean to be a thorn in the side of this thread, but I bought the stick. I drove several 10R80's and just wanted something more engaging, since I don't drag race. That said, with all the issues with broken shift forks, I have to say I have my fingers crossed and wonder if I shouldn't have bought the 10R80 instead.

I'm definitely happy I got it but it may not be for everyone. Sometimes I feel like I'm driving a drag car on the street lol. The trans is a beast
