Interesting thread. I’ve tried it on my Mustang 2015 GT with aftermarket suspension and 275 wide tires. So far I have mixed impressions. For sure the difference is noticeable but I can’t say that it has become better. The steering feels more like of a cheap Nissan, except that it’s heavy in sport mode…

So, it looks like ANC in default settings tries to magnify the road feedback but does it too rough. But without ANC there’s still no feeling of the road, simply because of the poor hardware. I’ve tried it in various conditions - in the city, on highways and on a track. I can compare the steering to VW CC that I used to have - and there it was balanced and solid, for that tier of cars. Here it doesn’t feel sporty so much

I went through the whole thread and didn't see anyone mention having steeda bump steer installed. I'd like to know if anyone who has done this has bump steer kit on their tie rod ends and if the change was still as noticable or got worse? And does this software change give the car a more mechanical steering feel. I think the mustang is THE bang for the buck sports car. The Miata is a very close second, but that 4 cylinder and the sound just doesn't do it for me. My only complaint is the steering is absolutely dead. I have no idea where my front tires are and what they're doing. The mustang with Miata steering feel and your be hard pressed to find a better car sub $85k

Yes I did bump steer tie rod ends and set it up correctly measuring bump steer through travel and while the steering was more predictable it did not improve steering feel really.

Alright, so I’ve been combing through this thread for the past 4-5 months. Trying out disabling PDC and then re-enable and definitely noticing a difference, however my issue was still present but just numbed with PDC inactive.
I have a 2019 Mustang gt that had 2 past owners at 22k miles. Should’ve been a red flag but I thought it was a decent deal. Dealt with “bump steer issues from day 1 but thought I could fix it, re-did 70% of the suspension, dropped it 1 inch, installed bumpsteer. These mods diminished about 30% of the issue… long story short tho.
Forscan had an update recently and being I was playing around with the RIDE HEIGHT ARC about 2 weeks ago I needed to go back and re-calibrate the lane keep assist (I noticed the car drove better, less bumpsteer, if I manually lowered the ride height arc but it was just a bandage and drove harsh, I eventually set it back to ACTUAL height of 690mm)
Now, I’ve HEARD from a ford tech that the front camera does more than lane keep assist, he claimed it’s actually integrated with the EPAS system which is actively pulling data for road conditions that’s what he said *hands up*
I went through the calibration process and it states you must do this if you have CHANGED THE HEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. Went for a drive and I shit you not, everything I was dealing with for over a year was gone. I’ve been trying to find forums or info somewhere that confirms what the tech said about the front cam but I can’t find anything. Anyone else heard of this?

When I put the Steeda Bits on my car (1" lower springs) the Tech said to recalibrate the cameral and radar and blaa blaa would be an extra $500. He said something to the effect of what you are talking about. Thankfully, the Bullitt has none of that nonsense.

Glad you got it worked out! I would LOVE to get more steering feel in my car, it is the only thing I don't love. But then again, my other cars are Porsches, and prior car was an E36 M3. Unfair comparison, and the Bullitt is SUPER responsive, I just wish it had more feel.

I was talking older, (I have a 76 and 89) but as for modern, Drive one........... Cayman, Boxter, 911, Panamera................... Then come back. NO comparison on feedback and feel.

I have ZERO complaints on hos my Bullitt handles the road. Goes exactly where I want and when, but the feedback and telegraphed feeling is nothing compared.

Letting go of the steering wheel momentarily is a technique. A while back Madonna was in a series of BMW ads which featured some cool stunt driving (directed by Guy Ritchie). I remember reading or watching a video on how the stunt drivers did some of the manoeuvres and they talked about this momentarily letting go of the wheel so the car could settle... It is real.

Sorry to not keep up here. So is PDC and active nibble control the same thing?
Is the ANC changes in forscan what I need to make here? ('21 GT)

I DO and have had the bumpsteer kit installed since 2021? Idk it’s been awhile lmao. PDC disabled improved the steering feel for spirited driving greatly (imo). I re-enabled it a couple years ago when I was dailying the car in Houston because the roads would grab a tire and that’s where PDC shines. I’ve now got a daily but the stang mostly sits between garage and the shop. I would like to revive this topic particularly relating to installation of GT350/Mach1/GT500/S650 steering rack for feel.

sorry for the late reply but they are NOT the same thing. I lost interest in the car for a couple years and never figured out what ANC encompassed
