I still have the stock pirelli on the car and I just notice while driving yesterday I can feel the road through the steering wheel.?

Is that I common thing for the s550?

(235/50r18) stock wheels and tires.

(No grinding, no rotation noise, no weird noises)

Maybe old/bad tires? They are almost 3 years old..

At three years the rubber is getting harder and the tread depth less deep -so yes very expected that you’ll feel more road imperfections. I’ve got the Perf Pak with 19’s and stiffer suspension so when I hit 3 years my remaining teeth will pop out!

Is that a bad thing? Maybe you can describe what you mean?

It’s just vibration/feedback through the steering shaft. Stiff suspension and stiff tires will ensure you’re feeling what’s under you.

I'm not sure if the OP is talking about feeling feedback on large bumps or ruts, or if he's talking about the kind of high-frequency "tingle" I get on my '18. It's kind of a buzzing in the steering wheel, like a tuning fork. It's worse on roads with a rough texture. My 2011 Mustang had a similar feel in the steering. I think something about the steering column design amplifies/transmits road vibration.

Check tire pressure. Tire pressure could be set too high where you feel every single imperfection in the road. Also could be cooler weather- rubber gets harder in colder weather. Also try different setting on the steering wheel to see if it makes any difference.

Being able to feel the road through the steering wheel in a performance car is a good thing. That said, the mustang has numb steering feel. Check your psi and inspect your tires for unusual wear.
