Steeda Parking Camera?

Resurrecting this.... The Steeda kit lists as not compatible with Manual Mach 1's. Anybody know why? Wondering if I can DIY modify anything, or it relies on CAN signals that aren't present in the manual.

You answered your own question as to why it’s not offered for the manual.

As to whether you can DIY it I’m not sure. Maybe someone an attempted it. I’m guessing it’s not trivial or Steeda would have done it already

Checked with our MFG Team. Part of it is Manual Vs Automatic. Nothing punching a whole thru your Firewall wouldn't resolve. The Bigger problem has been wiring. Every time we tried to get this running on the Mach 1, we were treated to a black screen.


Here are the installation instructions. On the last page is the wiring schematic if anyone is feeling up for a challenge or is a sparky.

I thought this kit had nothing to do with your transmission and you just held down a steering wheel button to activate it? I was tempted to purchase.

Wished I had spent the $400. Had an incident with a speed bump, tore my front bumper and belly pan of my Mach 1. $1500 after and still crossing my fingers the paint matches in the new bumper.

If I encounter a speed bump of any size, I stop, turn around and find another route. If it inconveniences other drivers, they can go complain to the idiots who installed it. If there's no other way, the business doesn't get my patronage. Easy.

The steering wheel function communication occurs over the CAN bus - the MT cars have fewer messages on the bus than AT cars - guessing the critical message is missing.

It might be as simple as APIM config in Forscan. I might do some digging.

I was not able to make this work on my 2022 Mach 1 6speed. Went back and forth with Steeda and their engineering team and they ended up refunding me. Safe to say this doesnt work on 6 speeds and is meant for the automatics.
