I went ahead and ordered the wheel and installed it the other night. I'm disappointed that it weighed 22oz more than OE on my scale (3lbs 15oz vs 2lbs 9oz) but it seems to be very high quality. It is slightly narrower measured from 9 to 3 o'clock (about 1/2") and it has a little more girth but nothing like the silly BMW M car wheels from a few years ago. The picture makes it look super thick for some reason but that's not really the impression when holding it.

Took the car for a good thrash this afternoon and overall I am happy with it. It's interesting how the slightly narrower diameter makes a noticeable difference in how small the wheel feels, making it feel closer in diameter to the kart-like wheel in my Evora 400. I don't feel like I lost any feedback through the wheel, either, despite the heavier weight.

I had not heard of Revesol until you mentioned it. Looking at the pictures, it looks VERY similar to the Steeda one and I suspect they might come from the same source. And yeah for drifting, a smooth, round steering wheel would be preferable. My Blackwing has a nice wheel for doing silly stuff.

Will be curious how it holds up. I too was interested in that wheel but was a bit concerned about quality given the price. Most of the time, you get what you pay for (not always though). Stark price difference between the Steeda wheel and a Beith wheel, which a lot of folks rave about it.

For the semi reasonable price, it was worth taking a chance to me. And, as mentioned above, the quality seems very high. Nice leather, stitching is perfect, the red stripe perfectly vertical (I have seen OE cars with less precision). I showed it to a friend last weekend and he was really surprised and impressed - he said it looked like a factory quality wheel.

I will say that the OE alcantara wheel looks kind of worn after only 11k miles. I cleaned it with Sonax periodically but you can see the wear at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions where I hold a wheel.

I have a Beith wheel ordered (full leather also) but it’s still probably 60 days out. Might give the Steeda wheel a try and if I like it I could always sell my Beith wheel.

Sonax is great stuff but the Alcantara does require pretty frequent maintenance if you drive it a good amount. Oils from your skin get in those fibers pretty easily. One of the reasons I prefer leather. Alcantara does look really good when new and after a fresh clean though, so I get both sides of it.
