And yet these cars do not come with jacking rails. :)
So by your logic anything that didn't come on the cars if your life doesn't rely on it shouldn't be torqued?

And yet steeda supplies a torque value. (Not in the instructions though which is why I asked here)

And yet so does BMR.

So the manufactueres must be wrong too then.

Why does it bother you so much that somebody does something in a more correct way than you did it? You seem actually bothered by the fact that people torque jacking rails or else you wouldn't have came into this thread.

To play devils advocate steeda and BMR provide different torque specs because they prob use different grade bolts than each other, but what is the torque spec on the nut welded in the body???

.

Your life doesn't depend on alot of the bolts. Yet every single bolt on your car was torqued at the factory and has a given torque associated with it.

Every. Single. Bolt.

Again thanks for the torque value bj!
This argument is getting silly. Bottom line, it won't hurt anything to just tighten down the bolts holding the jacking rails on. If you want to torque to manufacturer spec, more power to you. I torque to spec on certain things, but not others.

When it comes down to it, the definition of torque is a "twisting or rotational force," nothing more. Of course every bolt on the car was torqued down. That doesn't mean every bolt on the car was torqued to a certain spec.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winna!

This isn't rocket surgery, but there is a science behind the proper torquing of all fasteners. It is not only the grade of the bolt, but the material it is being screwed into. Typically torque values in the charts only refer to equal grade bolts and nuts. Everything else must be de-rated. GooGoo dat.

I dont even remember if I torqued mine or not, but when my car was towed recently I found out they hooked the chains up to the jacking rails to pull the car onto the flatbed, so torquing it may be more important than you'd think

I think, and i'm only speaking for myself here, it has to do with some in this thread being so "torque spec happy" and seem upset that others aren't as hung up on such numbers. Especially for something simple such as a jack rail...

They were designed to work in conjunction with our IRS braces. I am sure you have seen this photo before but they are very sturdy:

How much shorter are the coupe ones compared to the convertible?

I have the convertible ones installed on my convertible and they bolt up to the factory rear brace which I am assuming the spot where the Steeda rear brace bolts up. Am I correct? If so, would the convertible model fit the coupe?

Curious...

The coupe ones are about 7-3/4” shorter & yes, the convertible ones will work with the Coupe.
