So before I go breaking stuff before I even begin........ Step 1 is remove the engine cover. Of course I have a PP and the strut tower brace is in the way. Didnt even try. For anyone with a PP GT.. did you have to take that brace off first or can you get the cover off without taking off the brace and just slide it out?

My Steeda has been sitting in the spare room since I took it off with stock tune. I now have a tune for it, and decided to install yesterday and do some logging etc. One thing I DID try was to leave the snorkle off the airbox. Looking in the PMAS thread they mentioned more power with it removed. I would not recommend this if you are not moving constantly. Stop and go, and drag strip running would be affected. Driving down the interstate in 91 degree ambient, my IAT did not get lower than 112 degrees. When I stop or idle, it climbs very quickly. Sitting for 10mins to see temps, it got to 152 degrees. Just cruising to another spot after leaving the track(I did not run... spectating SCT in Charlotte) temps were 126 IAT when we pulled in the meet parking lot. Going to put the snorkle back on today and check out the differences. I'll post back up later this evening if I have time to take a drive in it.

Did you guys just pray that you lined up the snorkel with the hole in front? No matter how hard I tried i couldnt get it perfect....its off but i mean.... it is KIND OF lined up.

Mine was perfectly lined up. The snorkel is definitely a must. You need to direct the outside air into the air box, otherwise outside air mixed with engine bay heat will enter the intake.

Yeah i ve seen your posts in the pmas thread. The IAT's seem to be really high with that intake. Maybe you can gain a little bit hp and torque with that setup when the temps are really low but otherwise the car will pull timing and instead of gain you will loose power. One thing i learned from these forums are, never ever jump into a conclusion and buy a product without the feedback of the honest owners who actually used and experienced that product. I still think Injen seems to be the best for a closed box and steeda is the best for an open box cai design. During autocross and road coarse i can see the advantage of these intakes.

Well I can stick my hand all the way through to the front of the car so as long as air can get in there from the front I think that will be sufficient.

Does the snorkal slide over the hole at the front of the car or just sort of butt up against it? It's tough to see in there and maneuver.

I ron't remember exactly but when i put my arm inside and checked if there were any gaps for air to escape, there was none. So be sure to check the connection with your hand inside the duct, so there is no opening.

Ok cool. Thanks. It doesn't visually look perfect, but when I shove my hand in there it goes all the way through with no real gaps big enough to let light through. I can't get it much better. I think I'm good to go. :)
