ABS textured on one side 1/8 inch thick have used thicker before for other projects but 1/8 is easier to work with. HF heat gun jigsaw with wood blade thick cardboard masking tape to make template and a lot of time and patience. I buy the ABS at a local sign store`s scrap pieces.I will say it took a lot of time taking it in & out shaving a little in the right places to get the hood sealed :frusty:

It takes some time to get the fitment just right! A lot of mods a little at a time for perfect fit :doh: Addressing a few other issues next before Drag Strip

Finished sealing front and drivers side up to hood.. Great for Drag Racers First pic before adding to air box, Last 3 pics after making ABS piece to fit the hood.

Did you do any comparison tests after your modification to see if the intake temps are lower when the car is standing still?

My IAT are only 4-8 degrees above ambient on mine, all I did was open up the rest of my grill, while driving of course

Same for me I, had a buddy open up the grill, just wondering if his IATs were even lower than what peeps like you and I are seeing...

Added the foam and opened up 4 more hexes in my grill and I'm now around 5 to maybe 10 over ambient. And sitting in traffic it goes up but not as fast. Then a few minutes after I get going again it's back to under 10
