Hey Guys,
Steeda is closed for the day, and am hoping one of you can give me some instruction. My factory lockout collar broke so I've been stuck pushing my car out of the garage when wanting to drive. So I bought the billet lockout collar and am in the process of installing and am trying to seat the provided o-ring in the inner groove at the top of the collar. I cannot get it to seat. I packed a paper towel in the bottom cavity of the collar just up to the groove in hopes it would stop the o-ring from sliding down to far and it helped, but I am unable to seat it into the groove. It looks like it might be to big or maybe the groove isn't machined deep enough. Anyone gone through this and get it to seat.
Top pic is from the instructions, the other two are what I have.

I bought mine from CJ Pony Parts about a billion years ago, and honestly I don't remember an o-ring at all. I'm not sure how well that would work given that it has to slide up and down on the shaft as you pull up on it.

I thought about that too, but from the instructions and video I watched they show/talk about the o ring in there, but also wasn't so sure how rubber works as a sliding surface.

This is in the instructions with that first picture I posted. " 7.Install the provided o-ring into the o-ring groove in the top of the lockout collar."

In that pic and others I've seen it looks like the o-ring just barely visible looking down the center. The machining on the part looks nice, I'm hoping I just received the wrong size o-ring.

Funny/Odd I watched one video where the guy said the instructions were to secure the boot with the ty-wrap tempararily and then stretch the o-ring where the ty-wrap is and cut the ty-wrap free. Wasn't sure about that as that's not in the steeda instructions I found (step 7 above).

It appears the O ring is too big but that grove seems shallow as well. Mine fits like the instructions pic.

I still have an email into our tech team - did you by chance have a second to call us this morning?

Hoping it's just the o-ring size. The o-ring I have seems too big along with too large of cross section. It only seats about 1/3 (if that) of it's thickness in the groove so most of it is hanging out in the bore. Also just too large as it bunches up way too much to be seated. Thanks for chiming in.

Yep, spoke to Jamie this morning and he test fit one on his end and is sending me an o-ring that should work. Hoping its just the wrong size and the replacement will set me up.
