I just finished installing the hybrid 3 shifter... shifter is incredible but I’m having an issue with the reverse lockout collar and I didn’t know if any one had any thoughts/advice.

The collar that is supposed to fit into the white plastic piece with the o ring, does not stay inserted. As soon as I go to pull up on the collar to put the car in reverse the collar just pulls right out of the o ring piece.

I made sure it is seating all the way down into the socket and nothing is obstructing it...
Outside of drilling and tapping the side of the shifter, I’m not sure what to do at this point....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah I plan to.... But the collar and O-ring and everything seem undamaged and as designed… So I didn’t know if anyone else had had issues with the same thing

Hard to tell without being there what the issue is.

Did u try taking the shift boot off and try pulling the collar up to see what its doing?

Yeah so the part of collar that is supposed to be retained by the o ring just pulls right out of the socket if that makes sense.... I’m wondering if the reverse lockout spring is too heavy...

I have the same concern with mine I just installed in my 2017 GT. My problem was that I was using the white tapered plastic washer. My fix was to not use the white taper washer that originally came with my stock shifter on my 2017 and just go with the o-ring by itself which came with the stock shifter. I also degreased the Barton o-ring that fits the lockout collar. Hopefully this helps if anyone runs into this concern.

Any resolution? My lockout is acting up without it and will lightly bite the reverse lockout. If I hit it left and up it goes into reverse and all the way left gently and up snag on something internal. With the O ring on, the billet shifter piece wont lock into the lockout collar tightly,

Just had this same issue.
Remove the white plastic ring that comes with the oem unit and it now works fine
