Talked to a local tuner yesterday about this. I mentioned guys were stalling with the S550's. Right away, his example was: "Run it up to 6500 in third, let off the pedal and push in the clutch." LMAO because I did exactly that last weekend after reading this and other related threads. I thought maybe going from no vacuum at full throttle, then backing off might suck the throttle plate shut. No air = stall. Only I let it come down in gear on it's own and didn't hesitate, lope, or stall. The reasoning is that the PCM now is a torque based system. It senses the torque going up and tries to deliver it to the wheels (or not). However, pushing in the clutch pedal after winding it up or WOT... all of a sudden, no torque to the drivetrain. It goes nuts and doesn't know what to do, so it may just give up and just shut down. I've never had it happen (yet) but I always let the car come down in gear before a stop.

Here's the "or not": I also recall that guys were having problems initially with 2015's at the strip with slicks. Come off the line, spin a little, hook up, then bog. Couldn't replicate it with street tires. IIRC, the problem was the PCM was limiting torque output. It sensed a big spike in torque on hook up, and said, uh uh. It can do this by pulling timing, fuel, or both. Strange animals these drive by wire computer controlled engines. Glad I also still have a pushrod 5.oh with a throttle cable. Only thing the computer controls is the A/F ratio and total timing.

This certainly doesn't apply to everyone's problem that's posted, but might help a few. And for those that it doesn't:

Thanks for clarifying the possibility of an IAC going bad. Now that I think of it you're absolutely right. I don't know much about these motors yet and my frustrated brain is trying to correlate this problem with my previous experiences. Now I'm really stumped.

Either way this fault has not replicated itself. I don't like the idea of it happening at all but there's no way to replicate it. My car runs fine, pulls hard and idles sharp and consistent.

It maybe bad gas but I would suspect it happening for duration of the gas being in the tank. That wasn't the case.

I PM'd Ford Service on this board but nothing yet. I'd like this documented but believed I have to live with it for now and satisfied that this isn't a reoccurring fault.
Hello RUN RICH,

I’ve forwarded your PM to our FordServiceCA rep on here. Please send them another PM with your VIN, dealer, odometer reading, full name, and best daytime number.

Hey guys, I posted this under "Engines dies randomly". I found this TSB today and it could be a fix. TSB 15-0128.

Waldorf, I've tried your recommendation every day for a week and nothing. It has been cooler than that day it stalled if that matters. I just changed my oil to full sytenthic today with the dealer and they did not mention a TSB or that I'm due for any maintenance. Owner.ford.com lists no TSB's when logged in.

I tried looking up that TSB 15-0128 and there were no official google hits.

I did find this which was interesting:

TSB's are not recalls, they are technical service bulletins to guide the techs for certain customer concerns. I don't think they will show up at the ford owners website. At times, the dealership are not even aware of TSB until they look it up.

I did find this which was interesting:
Had my car base line dyno'd last Thursday, and pulled fine 7 times to cutoff, and came back down fine. First time I've actually head it OUTSIDE the car. Matter of fact, car was never shut off once the rollers spun the first time. Spent a lot of time with the guys, and they showed me how complicated the PCM has gotten. IIRC, there are 11 sets of tables in the PCM. I'd take it to another dealer along with that TSB number and see what happens. Could very well need an update. Kinda why I waited to get a 2016. When you ride the bleeding edge, it's easy to get cut. ;) Deysha may be able to get some wheels turning as well. Do hope you get it straightened out.

Yep! Some years ago on one of the T-Bird forums, a member was a tech and would keep an eye out for TSB's every day. When one showed up, he'd post them in a thread. Sure wish that'd happen here... or maybe someone already has and I'm just do blind and dumb to see it.

Good Luck!

I've search for TSB 15-0128 everywhere and can never find it.

Should have been a little more precise in my post... TSB's for T-Birds.

That is all...
I was just saying yeah, I wish someone who worked at the dealer would post up S550 TSBs because for instance I looked for TSB 15-0128 (relative to this thread), and have never found a copy anywhere here, or on the 'net.

If it's just been released, it'll take a while to show up anywhere. Driversound's post pretty well sums it up. I'm not having any problems, but sure would like to see it.

I saw where someone actually posted on the forum today around 3 p.m. about a TSB thread. No replies when I checked it. The best Ford tech in my area left the dealer. Although he went into business with the guy that used to do my alignments... and all they pretty much do are Mustangs. My kinda guys! That's where I got it dyno'd at last week.

Just had the same issue today rolling up to a red light.
Hit the clutch started right up and drove fine the rest of the way home
