My 2015 GT PP car w/ right at 12k miles has done this probably 6 times in the past year that I have owned it, the last time being about 2 weeks ago. Always seems to do it when I'm coming to a stop or at a stop. I hope to hell it doesn't do this crap while I'm driving it on the hwy or anything above 10mph because then I would instantly have no breaks or power steering. I see no reason in taking it to a dealership because there is no CE light or wrench light, and no record of it or what might have caused it logged anywhere, and as stated earlier, we just get told the "oh well we cant replicate it so we cant do anything about it" crap. Do Camaros and Corvettes do this?
You don't lose power brakes or power steering immediately with an engine stall. Common misconception. Power brake boosters will have at least 2 power assist stops left after an engine stall, and the power steering on the Mustang (and almost every other Ford model now) is electronic, and not via a power steering pump. Therefore, you will still have power steering assist available as well.

If it only stalls when coming to a stop, it's not going to do it at higher RPM or under a load. Sounds like a calibration issue that is allowing the idle to dip too low, or modifications that are causing skewed sensor readings.

FordTechOne.. am I correct about IDS having the flight Recorder available.. I don't have it for my IDS.. but I have heard of it. I don't know if it would be helpful in this situation or not.

Mine is automatic, and yes I was able to control the car and come to a stop. It would concern me if It happened to a jumpy driver

Yes, IDS has an available feature called CFR (Customer Flight Recorder). It's a pendant that connects to the VCM II, and it has a trigger button. When the concern occurs, you push the button and it records the next few seconds as well as the previous few seconds before the button was pushed. The technician can then load the recording into IDS to review the event.

Yea I hear you, the only people that really have access to it are dealership technicians. The VCM II and CFR are expensive to buy, and then you need to pay the monthy license fee as well to use it with IDS. Not practical for the average person unless you're running an independent repair shop that specializes in Fords!!

Yeah.. I have IDS and pay for oasis and 850 a year for the IDS .. And the VCM II was 1200.. But I use it a lot.. So it pays off for me.. I didn't opt for the flight recorder.. I just don't do those type repairs..
