I've been wanting to install headers but after hearing about tuning issues I think I'll hold off.

I know how you feel ... Mine ran great and much faster without the headers ... I'm sorry you are unhappy and wish some how I could help ...But I'm in the same boat and in the same creek with no paddle ..
Have you tried contacting SW and see whom they suggest tune your car?
Ask them about how they got they power and torque levels and tune and tell them your story. They should work with you.

Wow, I feel bad for you fellas... I know it can be very disappointing and such.. I think Im going to hold off too on long tubes... Have you all tried Livernois? I'm pretty sure I haven't read anything negative about ARH headers, can they really be much different than SW?

Torque?

Yes, it was a Lund tune. I spoke with John Lund II through email, and he's saying from the datalog that I could have shitty fuel. He's saying its showing knock activity on the log and its pulling 1Âş of timing and for that reason it wont pull above base timing. :/ He already recommended an Oil Separator if I didnt have one, so I picked one up. He said it was "looking better, but add Torco" So I did. He said it cleared up a bit more but didnt say if it corrected. Now today hes saying its still showing knock. Dont really know how to fix the issue, i'll try a different gas station I guess. I usually go to Shell. But I'd think the Torco additive wouldve corrected the shitty gasoline issue.
Did you gain anything ?

At Price of $599.99 for his tunes I don't want to risk it . I have already spent way to much for tunes ..

Conditions were about the same. Again, Lund is saying my car is showing knock activity now. And it's pulling timing. Either oil blow by or shitty fuel

Weird u added Torco and use Shell gas and still have issues, doesn't make sense. Keep us posted, I'm really interested in knowing the deal too. Good luck

Dang. Yeah headers seem like a headache right now. I want the full ARH exhaust, but I dont want to deal with this BS.

I'll have a used set of S&W power stainless headers and hi flow Cats for sale very soon ..I'm going back to what worked , stock headers , JLT intake and 93 race tune ..

if the car is seeing knock, it's seeing knock, doesn't have to do with the tune. the cars can get false knock too, could be from nvh, or something in there.

also oil getting in through the intake can do it to

Tracking, I want to remedy the situation though. Not sure what to look for our really do next. If it's oil blow by, I have a separator now. Unless there's residual in the intake and it's finding it's way in. I don't see how it could be false knock from nvh. I have no fucking clue what anything could be contacting. And if it's just the fuel quality issue, torco would've fixed it. I just don't want my car to pull timing so it actually makes the power it should...

With so many bad reviews on mid installs could there be something missing in the tuning parameters that is different from the 11-14? I know there are differeneces, but perhaps something else that hasn't been found yet. From what I've read, headers, blowers etc all add good solid power on the out going gen cars, but the s550 is having all sorts of tuning problems. Hopfully it's all figured out. This is the longest I've kept a car stock, but I don't want all these problems. I've been the guinea pig to many times.

Good luck to all those with the problems and hopefully this all gets sorted out.
