I have two stainless clutch lines I trying to decide on, but wanted to know if any of you recommend a specific one. The first one that uses compression fittings that seems like it may have more spots to leak, inhibit flow, or fail. Just not sure if it matters. Although, it does have stainless connectors, unlike Mcleod which has plastic ones.

This one by SVE seems to be built the same way as Steeda's clutch line, where the connectors are integrated into the braided line.

Condor1970,
I just upgraded to the UPR braided line. Make sure you tighten the fittings before you install the line. Use the small O-rings that come with the kit. Good quality very happy.

Upgrading to a braided clutch line,

I decided to make a little tutorial for people who suffer from OCD like myself. Taking the factory line off, I noticed the mounting bracket on the master cylinder booster and wanted to use the same location.
Hope this is helpful .

I drilled out the plastic to metal line connector that mounts to the booster by way of a rubber isolator.

Using a Dremel with a cutoff wheel I split the connector in half and separated the two pieces from the main connector

Now I am able to use the two pieces and rubber grommet to hold the braided clutch line at the original location.

I was thinking of using Motul 600 RBF (DOT 4), but not sure.

When you had to top off the fluid, how much did you need, and what kind is recommended...DOT 4?

I’ve had this fluid in for over 45k miles and haven’t looked back. Entire brake system fluid flush.
I'm assuming RBF 600 is compatible with the Motorcraft fluid? If that's the case, then can I use it to top off with no ill effects?

Is the stock fluid PM-20? If the stock fluid is Motorcraft PM-20, then I can just use that.

The SVE one was the best price and worked perfect for me. Auto Zone has Pentosin LV (Low Viscosity) brake fluid which is what my year calls for. Fill the new line with fluid once it's connected at the lowest point and you’ll barely have to pump the pedal to get the air out.

We flushed the entire system.
Best to ask Motul those questions.

Does anyone know exactly what OEM fluid they use?

Motorcraft DOT 3, or PM-20 DOT 4?

I also noticed MyStang replaced the ENTIRE line all the way up to the firewall with the UPR line. I think the SVE line is meant only to replace from the fitting mount to the clutch, leaving the steel hard line in place going to the firewall.

All the way to the firewall with my SVE line.

Mystang showed how to reuse the bracket in post #2. I didn't reuse mine. None of the braided lines utilize that short section of hard tubing. That would be a restriction and weak point from engine and fluid heat.

Condor1970,
In the picture below The braided line came really close to the header

It was my main reason for utilizing the OE bracket.

What was your process for getting the line disconnected at the firewall? For the life of me I just can't get enough room to get to the clip to even disconnect.

How did you access clip at firewall? Not enough room.
