Squealing sound when braking?

called my dealer about it this morning. The parts are now on backorder as apparently people all over the country are trying to get this fixed.

They put an emergency order in and told me they would expect the parts to come in between end of april and end of may. BAH

good thing my squeal isn't crazy. Only happens at slow speed and turning left.

That's exactly when it was happening to me. At least now there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I realize this vid was done a few months ago but I never listened to before today, the sound you are getting is much higher pitched than what mine is currently doing... Mine sounds like a freight train horn only not that loud, don't get me wrong it's loud enough to be noticed by anyone nearby on foot or in another car. Mine didn't start until the car had over 4000 miles on it; and it never does it right away, it's always after a few minutes of driving, and only under light stopping... never under firm pressure!

Road wetness and car washing wetness seems to actually keep it at bay for a little while... always dry warm brakes when the noise crops up.

Just so you know the BREMBOS make noise as well, that's my issue, just call me the sleek green locomotive.... and the TSB is only for the standard set up.

I just made an appointment to take mine in tomorrow. They hadn't heard about the TSB, but I gave him the number and asked to make sure they would have the parts in. We'll see!!!

Called to have mine checked today. Next Wednesday is my day. The have to look at the car first. They don't do it all the time so this should be interesting. I left work yesterday and my boss this morning said omg I could here you a block away.

Well, I just got it back from the dealer. They had to order the parts. Backordered until April 27th. At least they washed it for me

Anybody know if the TSB replaces ALL the rotors and pads? Or just the front?

I finally addressed this issue.. I'm in the BAY AREA and FREMONT ford is ordering my TSB... Hope this solves the issue...

Couple weeks into the repair and the brakes are silent so far

For those with mods taking their cars in, are you reverting them the mods back to stock? Mine does this and wondering if they'll just flag me in the system for any future repair if needed.

I guess it depends on the mod but I don't think it would matter. I brought mine in with a MAP CAI. They had no reason to lift the hood, but even if they did, I highly doubt they would care.

Almost 600 miles on the new brake pads/rotors and heard a SLIGHT squeal this morning as I stopped at the end of the driveway...Not nearly as loud or high pitched as it was before the repair and it was pouring down rain this AM...Will monitor/listen closely next few mornings - hopefully it was just a 1 time fluke...

Just dropped mine off at a different dealer who claimed they have rotors in stock. Thanks for the messages suggesting it fellow socal mustang members.

I just hope they can repro the issue since new pads make it happen less frequently but it does happen.

Happy I didn't have to wait until after April 27th! Some dealers have the parts, some don't.

Picked her up yesterday afternoon and so far so good.

All in all they found the TSB after reproducing the noise. They replaced both front brake pads, rotors and calipers. Time will tell but I didnt have any squealing so far...
