I'm in the process of installing Steeda Ultralite springs, and when reinstalling the strut rod nut, I can't seem to get it to tighten. It almost feels as if it is stripped. It is tight enough to mount the strut, but it can't be torqued to spec because it just spins as if it is stripped. When comparing the splines that are showing from the inner brown nut, there are definitely more showing on the side that is still installed on stock springs than are showing on the strut with the Steeda spring. Anyone else have this issue? I'm not sure what is wong and/or how to fix it. Thanks in advance for the help!

Is the nut spinning on the shaft or is the shaft spinning in the strut?

Here is what I did. I used an offset boxed end wrench on the nut and an open end wrench on the tip of the shaft. I was able to hold the shaft from turning with the small open ended wrench and tighten the nut with the offset box wrench.

For me this did not work. It started to loosen the nut when taking apart but then just spun. Same with install, it started with impact then just spun. I had to use the wrenches to finnish getting off and putting on.

That's what I ended up having to do as well. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Everything ended up going in well (aside from the confusion regarding the orientation of the Steeda springs in the front), and I was able to torque everything to spec. Nothing seemed to break or fall off on the 45 minute drive home from my friend's house, so I'm going to assume everything is okay, lol! The rears were a piece of cake compared to the fronts...

How much difference does the taller, inner nut make? After installing the first spring (when we noticed that the nut was spinning), there were not as many threads from the inner, brown part showing as there were on the stock side. Does that make any difference? We eventually got them to match, thread-wise, and I was able to properly torque both of the main strut rod nuts to spec.

Thanks again for the help!
