So I'm new to driving a manual, bought mine without ever knowing how hahahaha terrible I know....

Anyways, I've always been curious to drive the other modes, but have always chickened out :headbonk:

Just drove it in sports mode for the first time right now and the difference is unreal. Shifting and the throttle respone is immensely better.

Can't imagine ever going back to normal mode, unless I have grandma with me hahaha

P.S. Just hit 500 miles today
Did you have any issue learning how to drive manual on it? I wanna learn manual, but my only friend with a manual won't let me drive his 370z. So I have no car to practice on, and I kind of don't wanna ruin something on the car as soon as I get it lol.

I use track mode only now and am really confused why everybody praises Sport and nobody says anything about track. Differences are subtle but noticeable.

I always use track mode now. (well, not highways but I don't really drive on them)

Yeah having never driven manual and known little about it...it was a major struggle to begin with. Using my left foot for the first time ever in a car was so unusual and hard to start with...Like most people, I started in a empty parking lot. Starts are the most difficult part, I had my share of stalls/jerks and ugly starts hahaha.

I honestly thought I was never gonna get it down, but each and every time I got a little better. Then going on the street for the first time was horrifying as well lol

Find someone that is patient <---- that is key or it will make learning a nightmare.

Check locally if they have driving schools that can teach you if you have no one else and watch youtube videos ( I did a lot of that).

There are so many great reasons to get a MT, including it being cheaper about $1500 cheaper for my ride

I have no regrets though, I can now see why people said to go with a manual. It's a much better experience by far! A major plus was that 99% of my friends don't know how to drive stick:headbang: So I don't have to worry about them asking me to drive it lol

Took me a while to learn manual well: I learned through "trial by fire" by driving my v6 mustang home when I bought it a couple hundred kilometres away. The thing I hated the most is that it felt like I was mistreating the car at first, that was the hardest part.

You get the hang of it pretty quick and with my short experience with the S550 it's a lot easier to drive than the old S197.

Sounds promising! :D I will have to see. Thankfully I am pretty used to using my left foot when I drive, because I like to pretend I have a manual when I use my tiptronic sometimes. :p But I will say, driving manual in games with my wheel with a clutch and everything, it's so much more fun than automatic. So I imagine the real thing would be even better!

So true, It would make me cringe so bad when I would do something wrong because I felt like I was messing the car up

I think that you can learn the MT82 in a GT pretty easily, it's so forgiving because of all the silky smooth torque available. You will, however, need a coach that is expert in a standard and time to practice the day you get your new car in an empty parking lot or someplace similar. And you're not going to hurt a Mustang by learning to drive a stick in it, dude. Enjoy!
