Last time I was asked if I knew how fast I was going it went like this:

Them: "Do you know what the speed limit is back there"
Me : "Yes, 35MPH"
Them: "How fast do you think you were going?"
Me: "I don't know, you tell me"
Them: "Well I can't tell you because I didn't have enough time to clock you before you slowed back down"
Me: "Oh OK. Well I was going 35MPH"
Them: "Laughs... I doubt that because I could see the rear end of your car sideways"
Me: "Ya. These cars don't get traction very well even at low speeds"
Them "Well, I can't give you a ticket so just take it easy and have a good night. And nice car!"

Had I admitted any speed, he could have ticketed me. Never give in. You can be polite and courteous without incriminating yourself or being a jerk.

Alamance County... Where I-40 and I-85 meets for about 20 miles.
State Troopers are always on the exit/on ramps clocking folks.
beware of the overpass/bridges. They will sit there and clock folks and relay them to the other troopers waiting to hit the on-ramp @ 100+ miles to chase people down.
I think mostly they're out there for drug traffickers. Just don't speed in Alamance County.
I'll keep that in mind. I've actually sped quite a bit through there on my way to Greensboro without issue (nothing stupid, mind you). I will cease that immediately. Thank you!

I feel like I got the blame for someone else speeding once because I was in a Mustang. I was driving between Gainesville and St. Augustine, a trip I was making 2-3 times weekly at the time and knew all the speed traps.

Green Cove Springs pulling out onto 17 briefly before turning back onto 16, the limit starts at 35 and goes up to ~55 right before the turn. An old truck pulled out before me and I remember thinking "wow that old truck really got up and went" and proceeded to pull out behind him, never cresting 40mph before the limit increased because I knew it was a speed trap.

Turned back onto 16, and after what must've been a mile I get the flashing lights. The road had turned into 2 lanes at that point so I started pulling off to the side thinking he was after someone else, until he slowed down behind me. Cop approaches my window as I'm thinking what it could be about and he asks me how fast I thought I was going. I was confused so I asked "where?" and he said "back when you turned out onto 17, did you know you were going 63?" which was pretty surprising until I thought about that old truck.

I just kept my mouth shut and took the ticket. Luckily in here in FL, you can take an online "driver's safety course" once a year up to 5 times and the DOT won't give you any points or report it to insurance. Still chapped my a** because you're still stuck with the fine and I definitely feel like the cop clocked the guy in the old truck, saw a young guy driving a Mustang, and assumed it was me.

We did some testing with a Stalker Dual Ka gun few months back and if they're shooting stationary it's very cut and dried who's speeding. However, I thought moving strongest/fastest mode was a different story. I'm not a trained radar operator so take this opinion for what it's worth but clocking a group of cars moving towards me was not especially intuitive. I can definitely see a trooper getting cars mixed up in that mode, especially if it was at night. Then picking the fast car to write the ticket to.

The speed of the larger vehicle is the most likely to be reflected on a typical radar. I thought this was taught during training? Also, I am not sure if this is true or even amounts to anything but a the darker the car, the less radar gets back to the gun. I do know that the radar absorbing paint that the military uses can f-up a radar at distance. I thought about painting my car FDE with a proprietary paint that closely resembles it for that very reason, but quickly realized that it would look stupid and dropped the idea.

LEO friends?
I have Mayor friend, Judge friends, DA friends, US Marshall friend, local detective friends...
how does that help you not speed?
LOL his comment went way over your head. He was implying he's glad there are friends of his that keep him safe by pulling over speedsters.

Strongest/Fastest is supposed to allow the radar to differentiation between a semi truck and a small sports car. The Stalker does a great job locking out Strongest for the fastest speed, my issue is the judgement the operator has to use to determine the fastest car.

Color won't effect radar. However back in the old days color could effect Lidar which is Light Detection and Ranging. But the new guns are so good it doesn't matter anymore. They can clock just about anything, any size, any color.

There goes my theory of thinking the Semis would mask my speed...

So I usually run like this: in a 55 I will usually run about 62mph. I've never had an issue doing this. I will NOT go over the speed limit whatsoever in a school zone and I respect work zones as well. City areas with 25mph limits have my respect.

Here's a screen shot of the Stalker Dual shooting Moving Strongest/Fastest in a 45 zone. So that truck was passing the car so he was the 50 mph speeder I think, so who was the strongest? Was the truck the strongest and I had a 50 mph speeder somewhere in the distance? IDK, that's why I thought Moving Strongest/Fastest was hard to use.

Are you okay?

Someone breaks into my place and they better hope their life insurance is paid up and the health insurance covers lead poisoning. Not that they will need the latter...
