Something dropping down from side view mirror?

While driving in Mexico on the autobahn around 140mph, this rectangular?, plastic piece dropped down about an inch, from my left side mirror housing. From the bottom. It was plastic. I lowered the window and pushed it back up into place, but it was a loose fit. Know what piece i'm talking about? Should I just add glue? or ?
I was late for work (at the tequila factory) and couldn't get a pic yet. :)

I think you're right! Damn those things are expensive! Good thing it didnt fly off.
Might have to add some trim/molding rtv silicone.

I had a couple of the mirror puddle lamps fall out in the first few thousand miles. My dealer replaced them under warranty. Instead of continuing with that game, I put a piece of clear Gorilla tape over the last one and it has held in place for another 6+ years. The clear tape does not noticeably reduce the brightness of the lamp or make the projected pony any less distinct.
