Maybe this video will help? They have it pretty disassembled in here, and can probably help you figure it out.

It looks like you have to disassemble the entire mirror.

1) Remove the mirror glass: can be down by inserting a flat blade screwdriver between the glass and motor. Twist the screwdriver to remove the glass. Once the glass is free, disconnect the electronic connectors.

2) Remove the mirror motor: first remove the mirror bezel by removing two screws and release the tabs. Next remove the screws from the motor and disconnect the electrical connectors.

3) Remove the mirror cover: disconnect the mirror turn signal, next remove the screw & release the tabs to remove to cover.

Good luck!

Well it was a lot easier than I thought. Took less than a minute to do both mirrors. I used a flat plastic tool I had that was using to remove the saddle bags for my Harley. I pulled the side view mirror cap away from the housing unit, just enough to put the plastic in between the housing and the cap. I used the plastic tool like a flat head screw driver and pried it apart. You have to be a little aggressive with it and it just pops off. Pop the new cap on and you are done.

before is the top pics

and after below

thanks for the help guys

Car looks great but WTH did you do to your front lawn??? LOL.

I'm just messing with you. I actually put in a drought resistant front lawn too but am holding on with the back yard.

Those look like the plain unpainted mirror caps. From the pics, they look like like a semigloss black which is how the unpainted mirror caps arrive.
