Thank you for the links. It says my Sync is up to date. I bought the car in 2020 and I’ve only had to update it once. I used USB because it was so much faster. I did a master reset though.. would that have deleted the update I did a couple of years ago? My status still says up to date but could it be wrong?
I’m aware you already did a master reset, but I’m thinking a reinstall might be in order here. I’d almost be inclined to pull power completely for a minute or two if convenient, but I’m not familiar enough with that system to recommend that. Maybe someone else has more info on that possibility.

Yes everything else works fine. I just can’t use volume/change channel on my steering wheel and I can’t use volume knob or push the audio button on my touchscreen. No sound comes out of the speakers when I’m on Apple CarPlay but the screen shows the song is playing.
What happens if you disconnect apple car play and then reset sync? I have heard of weird stuff happening with ACP.

I tried that and nothing changed.

I think the "no gps" symbol in the video is telling. Sync isn't loading correctly, so other issues of buttons not working, etc are symptoms. Also, your profile lists that you are in Alabama, which also shows on the video, so I don't think you have issues with your antenna, etc.

@JoshuaShane , can you re-install the sync update via USB and let us know?

Also, did you say if you checked for any error codes? If a module like APIM, etc is misconfigured or non-responsive, it will at least throw a code and we can rule that out.

Yes I’m going to try to find the flash drive I used that has the update on it and see what happens. I haven’t had it checked for code errors. Will AutoZone do that or just a dealership?

Does the screen display change at all or respond to anything? Can you change your climate control on the touch screen?

Yes everything else works as it should. It even connects to Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay and shows that the music is playing. I just can’t use any volume button/knobs and when I press the audio button it does nothing.

I could say a lot about the radio. I installed my own system and learned a lot. You can watch the video on one of my posts if you want.
However, someone on the forum had a similar issue in 2019. A battery disconnect and reconnect resolved their issue. I would do this.

If the battery disconnect doesn't work, then check the amplifier fuse.

The battery reconnect didn’t work. I was really hoping it would. I can’t reinstall the Sync 3 update because all it says is sync is up to date and doesn’t give me an option to download it. I’m gonna try to go check the fuses real quick and I’m praying that’s the issue because it’s my last resort. I’m out of options and things to try. After buying a new battery and alternator I’m completely broke so taking it to a dealership isn’t gonna happen anytime soon. This dumb ass car got me feeling defeated right now.

Sometimes when trouble shooting gets the best of you, it's good to take a little break away from the issue & come back to it at a later time with a fresh set of eyes.

You’re exactly right! That’s probably the best advice I need right now. 😄

It is. And now with no radio it’s all I fucking hear. 🙄😂
There are Sync 3 forums that can show you how to do advanced software changes like revert to earlier versions of Sync and stuff. You might look them up.
The amplifier is actually part of the head unit- it does more than amplify channels if I remember correctly. It has its own ground. You can check to see if the wires transmitting sound signals to the amp have- I believe- changing alternating current voltage as the volume is attempted to be changed. Five Star Car Audio has great Mustang system install videos, really getting in depth with the way the system works. That's all I got!
