Wish I knew! Nothing I read in the marketing or install when I purchased and installed them ever said they'd have to be greased.

I'm thinking the stuff I posted a couple replies up should be good to have on hand.

I'll see how long the white lithium lasts before spending money on anything else.

Now I'm just tired...
I would try what Ronstar said. White Lithium grease will wash off to easily. Good for testing though.

OK, well as you found out from greasing it and total silence, I spoke to Kelly today at BMR about this, and basically suggested the same thing you just did.

He said that these can get contaminated with foreign material when its rains etc, and to grease them with Ams Oil MP Heavy Duty or equivalent greasing oil. So I am going to try that when I have time.

Ill let you know if this solves my issue as well, however from your and what Kelly suggested, I think it will. :)
Boy oh boy a little fuckin heads up somewhere on their website would have been nice. Thanks for confirming with them. I hope it helps you.

I'll grab that stuff they suggest as I DD mine so it's bounds to happen again.

Nothing about that stuff would suggest to me that it's a lubricating grease.

OK that's right is not a heavy duty grease, it is a protector with a wax-like amber film and should last and protect it quite well and stop the noise.
Well I think the horses already left the stable on using that stuff so I'm probably stuck having to just reload as needed. Plus honestly if you read the description it doesn't say anything about using it on joints or other moving parts.

I am happy to see you found the cause. It is always a good feeling!

As for this specific occurrence, we see this happen every so often with spherical bearings and rod-ends. I would not say it is too common, but it can and does happen.

When customers call me, I usually tell them to clean the bearings off with a mild soapy (dawn dish soap) solution...rinse with fresh water and dry. Then spray a wax like lubricant to them...or whatever lubricant they have available to them. This usually works like a charm.

This does not mean that the bearings must be lubricated often. Most times, this fix works and then the user has years of trouble-free use. There are so many variables.

That being said, the reason this works is because sometimes if you get the right combination of contamination (moisture, dirt, grime, grease, etc) built up and it makes its way into the race of the bearing it can or will cause NVH increase. Cleaning the contaminants off then applying lubrication will help quieten the noise and work the contaminates out. I like to use the comparison of....getting a foreign object lodged into your eye. Your body naturally provides more fluid to the eye to remove, and additionally rinsing with fluid or eye drops promotes a faster removal of the object.

Here is what I recommend based on many years of modifying suspensions and using Spherical bearings. ;)

I appreciate the reply. I've personally never dealt with a joint like that before.

I for sure will keep an eye on them going forward.

I know it could sound like a possible deterrent from a marketing standpoint, but a little line somewhere warning of this possibility could end up saving other people from the same stress and wasted time. I have zero problem keeping an eye on it and luring it. I just wish I had known.

I will work on it.

Often times, things like these are overlooked when making products in our industry. In this case, it is something that is not common at all when you look at the % of cases.

This situation is a large reason why I do what I do. As it was mentioned earlier, someone had called me and had stated that he believed his toe links were emitting unnecessarily high levels of NVH. I told him almost exactly the same thing you ended up doing (before you made the post)

Keep in mind we are a business that has a full tech support staff for each platform and chassis that we support, and our phone # is 813-986-9302

Thanks again. I just had so many things installed at once that it was a matter of picking apart what I had done. By the time I finally located it it was obvious what needed to be done.

Next time I'll call support and you guys can listen to cry on the phone like, "Where the shit is that noise coming from!?!?"

;)

Thanks again.

Overall, very happy with the quality of the product and what it does.

Enjoy!

Just wanna share this - I am absolutely swamped with messages. M6G, Emails, Facebook, Instagram etc.

Typically I would have posted this earlier in this thread...but I am having a hard time keeping up.

I always prefer, and it is almost always easier to get to me via phone. You may have to hold a few minutes to get me, but it usually always work out better than my response to a PM. I am catching up a little today on PMs from a few weeks back :(

No worries. I didn't pinpoint which part was causing it until post #24. Nothing anyone could help with remotely. I had to find it on my own.

Other people complain of similar noises, but it could be 50 different things.
