Same issue with me. Woeful after care from main dealer even charged me for a regas under warranty and failed to add dye as they ‘ran out’ then chipped the paint and denied responsibility. Better using any independent. These cars are just cheaply designed and built but they have so much soul I can forgive all that.

I've been using Trust Ford in Erdington for the past 2 years. I can't praise their team enough. They always seem to show extra care to Mustang owners as well which is always nice to see.

I've had 2 successful warranty claims sorted out by them. The latter to do with my HVAC system (temperature was getting stuck at full cold or full hot on one side) which despite taking about 3-4 months to figure out (the technicians were genuinely baffled by what was going on, as was I) but they (service and technical staff) pulled out all the stops:

- They contacted Ford US to find out how these systems are set up
- They called a Lead Technician to come down from the "upper echelons" of Ford to investigate as well (these guys basically have the authority to approve parts replacements under warranty on the spot)
- They changed multiple parts (brand new HVAC head & facia unit, HVAC motors and sensors) with no questions asked nor any difficulty as your usual dealership which only cares about their bottom line (I am looking at you Bristol Street Motors).
- I was always provided with a courtesy car at no additional charge (on the longer stint my car was in, I was given a fully spec'ed-out Kuga which I enjoyed a lot more than the usual Fiesta)

In the end we figured out that the issue was caused by more than one thing: 1 HVAC motor getting stuck and 1 HVAC sensor as the two were throwing each other off. I also ended up with a brand new HVAC head and facia unit during the process which I was very pleased with as mine had been scratched by yours truly during an idiotic cleaning incident! We also discovered that despite the "dual climate" system on these cars, in order to keep costs down, Ford is using a single temperature sensor in the middle of the dash for the middle vents (there are additional sensors for the side vents though from some schematics I've found) so one of the sides will always blow at a slightly different temperature as its further away from the middle temperature sensor than the other side. Mine is a very early 2016 reg (manufactured Oct, 2015 in fact) so this might have been improved in later models.

All in all very happy with how they handled both cases, despite the second one taking some time to figure out. I do appreciate that it was a complicated and uncommon issue though.

So if you decide to go to them ask for Lauren who is the service person I usually deal with and Liam who is the Senior Technician usually tasked on Mustangs there. Tell them that Nektarios with the red Mustang sent you if you like. I think they'll appreciate hearing they are being recommended.

All the best!

P.S Top tip: Allen Ford, Bristol Street Motors, Evans Halshaw et al. are all 3rd party dealerships which ultimately only care about their balance sheets. Warranty claims are more of an annoyance (and cost) to them as they don't make any money on those jobs. Trust Ford is owned by Ford itself which means customer satisfaction and ownership experience are a lot higher on their list, so for warranty claims you are always better off going directly to them!
this is interesting to know as i've been to chambers in the past which to be fair have scratched their heads on a few things but like the previous post they've just regassed my AC twice and hoping for the best.

if i ever get this issue again i may try trust ford as its not too far away from where i am. thanks for the insight

Mine goes into Ford next week for a new evap core. THey diagnosed it first time after I handed them the TSB and telling the nugget on the desk that it is a common fault so look at this.

Nice one! You're lucky they just regassed mine twice even after putting the TSB infront of them, no idea now if it'll fail again until next summer as it's not getting used now its getting cold lol!

Is anyone looking forward to see Le Mans '66? The trailer looks very convincing. It seems worth watching on big screen..

Probably will fail if it is not used.

You should use it regularly throughout the year, it is perfectly possible, in fact genuinely encouraged, to have the AC on and set to heat, in fact it then dries the air out and conditions it, and it helps hugely with demisting the screen on those cold winter mornings.

AC is not just for cold air.

You can have conditioned hot air.

If the system is not used regularly seals and pipes can degrade and, the oil that should be circulating around the system regularly, will settle in various low parts of the system and then not be in the right places to lubricate the seals properly when you do start it up again next summer.

If they were to tell the true story, and not a story based on true events, then I would be encouraged to watch it.

I turn into a different person when I watch these films, someone I don’t much like: a person who goes looking for flaws and derives some kind of perverse pleasure in finding them.

In the Hunt-Lauda flick ‘Rush’ I found myself nudging my wife and saying ‘I don’t remember Cadwell Park being on the 1976 Grand Prix calendar’ and receiving a well-aimed and entirely deserved elbow in the ribs.

And don’t get me started on Downton Abbey where a race supposedly at ‘Brooklands’ alternated from one sequence to the next, between dog-slow tracking shots at Goodwood, and a former military test track just outside Chobham, with not a smattering of banking to be seen anywhere. Serves me right for watching Downton Abbey, I guess.

It only took reading one review of Le Mans 66, where the author describes watching a scene where a driver is seen changing down a gear halfway down Mulsanne in order to overtake a rival, for those telltale bubbles to start appearing in my blood.

I just know this film will be full to the brim of other glaring inaccuracies, when so many people are still around who were there, and know every tiny little detail, so the film could easily have been made 100% accurate.

But i guess that would not make a good film, nor make the producers their millions.

Can you tell me where this was? This is the sort of customer service that I'm looking for!

Thanks for the input, its appreciated! Interestingly I asked ford Customer Services if they could recommend a mustang specialist dealer to take my car to for a second opinion, and this wasn't one that they mentioned. I will certainly give them a call though.

Furrows in Oswestry. Simon on the desk is a pleb but Carl the service manager knows good customer service. My car has been there over a week now but he assures me only his master tech is working on it. I miss her so much!!

At 5 years service & 20k miles I was told my GT needed new brake discs & pads front & rear but they did not have the parts & were waiting on notification of delivery time. It was said to be OK to drive till MOT expired. Three days later I was told that delivery was over two weeks.
They phoned after two weeks & said they had the parts, the problem was getting an MOT retest slot as it was over two weeks since MOT so a full retest was needed. Booked for Friday 6th Aug & job completed, they did not charge me for the MOT retest. Cost was eye-watering, huge difference in cost for front/rear pads. Brake pedal is much firmer now & seems higher up & a bit more abrupt. Hopefully they will soon bed in & be easier to modulate.
At service they supplied a new pack of tyre sealant & reset the warning on the dash but did not fit it to the pump. £34 for sealant, what's in it something exotic like squid ink?

Well the dealers finally think they have diagnosed the problem with my left indicator. It needs a new steering wheel control module and recoding. £591 inc vat and labour……. Let’s hope that fixes it…. Fords really are junk :(

Ouch I sure hope they’ve got that diagnosis right !
”think they have diagnosed the problem “ doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

If it doesn’t fix the problem I will be requesting they remove the new module and think again. I’m paying for a fix not a shot in the dark.
