It may be noteworthy that the word “Performance” is inside the new GT emblem. I’d personally guess that there’ll be a GT Performance edition or Performance option maybe positioned between the current PP car and the Mach 1. This would give them a place for the engine that “approaches 500 hp” so they could upcharge for it. I’ve always thought that if they do have an engine “approaching“ 500 hp (whatever that means) it won’t be in the base GT. They’ll bump it upstream and charge a premium for it.

Ok. Here’s my guess for today. They’ll use the Mach 1 engine but utilise the 5.2 block. Should be an easy 20HP from the added displacement alone.
