Completely forgot about this issue that I had in the beginning.
For some reason (I now have 60k on the car) the issue went away at some point... :)

Reviving this thread from 2016, I just noticed the same very loud vibration on second gear, above 3-4K RPM, while the engine is under load or even when not on load. Third or other gears seem to be unaffected. I do not rest my hand on gear lever. Car is at ~2700 miles. No track time - road use.

It sounds just like "the car did not go into gear" noise, obviously the gear is engaged and car is moving along but vibration makes me cringe.

What are my options here? I can take the gear lever out and check rings but that's the limit of my mechanical options at home. Is my only choice a dealer visit - possible change of gear assembly? That makes me cringe as well.

Also, I noticed Auto Fanatic has a video to fix gear lever vibrations. Is this he same vibration-issue he is fixing??? - I couldn't tell.

Thank you,

I watched Auto Fanatic's video again, and he mentions the fix is for the vibration on 2nd and 3rd gear. His fix seems pretty straight forward so at some point soon, I'll try that and report back here.

Lucky for you : )
It's annoying the hell of me right now. I was panicking yesterday when I noticed it, but now I'm just annoyed.

I had the same noise/vibration in my 2017 - drove me nuts. Installed an MGW shifter last Summer and no more vibration.

OP- The Auto Fanatic video is the 'fix' you need. It's a pain to do, especially if your shift knob is glued to the shaft like mine was, but it will eliminate the buzzing. And yes, the MGW shifter solves it too, but at a much higher cost, although with a much improved shifter.

Good luck!
