It gets worse. A mate flies over the Solent and as the ship passed by Southampton I asked him to keep and eye out for a large red ship and if he saw any to take pics! It passed closer to France so didn't spot it.

A colleague said he spotted loads parked in the docks so I'm hopefully I can spot it...

The wait is killing me now.

As above the MY2017 comes with Sync3 though no idea how any of the new features work. Also have no idea how effective the sub in the boot is as I've not come across a car without it!
I wanted an integrated SatNav and like my music loud so with Sync2 on the early cars it was a no-brainer.

Mine doesn't have the shaker system, i haven't compared it against a car that does have it though so can't comment either :doh:

I can confirm that this is correct. I'm pretty sure there's a few on here who've posted their regret at not getting the shaker pro.

It is a quality system, sat nag is a bit meh, but once you are used to it and speak to it with a 'Merkin accent, all good

As far as I understand:

2016 Sync 3 vehicles are NOT CarPlay AndroidAuto compatible, and will need a (paid) hardware and software upgrade to enable it.

2017 Sync 3 vehicles will work out of the box. So any UK/EU Sync 3 equipped cars will be compatible.

Don't forget 2016 US cars had sync 3. U.K. Cars didn't.
U.K. 2017 probably have the older sync 3 stuff as we seem to get shafted with everything. Fingers crossed ours do come with appl/android ready to go

^^ This is worth heeding, and as [MENTION=6364]Twin Turbo[/MENTION] said until someone actually gets their mitts on a MY17 we'll not know for sure.

The Ford UK price list for MY17 does state sync3, but i didn't realise there might be two versions for my16 and 17 builds!
It also states android and apple compatibility but doesn't explain what that means.

Hi Manders, I think there's a slightly different layout for Sync 3, probably still be an empty button or something though, I'll do some digging lol

I'll have the phone plugged in all the time anyway so should just display CarPlay display.

Update:

its a very different layout to the Sync 2, Apple Carplay is not out yet, might be the end of the year, you might need to pay for a software upgrade and a different port for it, all up in the air at the moment
Sync 3 will be over here by September I have been told, as I am waiting for the UK Maps to be installed into my CS
