As an alternative to my inbuilt Sync 3 Sat Nav I thought I'd give Sygic a go, recently added to the Ford App Catalogue: http://secure.ford.co.uk/OwnerServi...t/SYNC-App-Link-Catalogue/iOS/_/app=820326185 and claimed to display on the Sync 3 screen via AppLink (iPhone/iOS), there's even a Ford YouTube video showing it working:
A 14 day fully-functioning trial (7 day standard plus an extra 7 days for connecting via AppLink) seemed more than enough time to decide if I wanted to shell out for the 'lifetime' package.
The problem is it doesn't work - no way, no how could I get it to display onscreen
. My other AppLink apps do (Accuweather, Spotify etc.) so not its not a Sync 3/iPhone/USB lead connectivity issue; furthermore feedback posted on the Apple App Store indicates I'm not the only Sync 3 user with this problem...
Engaging Sygic 'Support' (note the quotes!) simply resulted in repeated advice that I need to contact Ford to update my Sync 3 to v2.3 (which IMHO is not yet available); Sygic have just updated their app description to reflect this.
So, stalemate and a suggestion that nobody else bothers trying Sygic out and a question if anyone has done, have they managed to get it working or not?
I have contacted Ford Relationship Centre and suggested that they pull Sygic from their App Catalogue until it works :ford:.
