With Recaro's I would pass and spend my $1795 in the aftermarket on a real audio upgrade.

The 12-speaker system does have a sub-woofer but it's been repackaged so it takes up far less space in the trunk. The convertible video they put a while back had it and it still fit two big golf bags in there

There is nothing in this video that shows a sub. I have not seen a single pic of the trunk open w a sub. I am concerned since my 13 has the Pro w Sub and without the sub it will be very weak. Also have not been able to determine where to 12 speakers are?
You can see the 2 in the doors the high tweeter on the A pillar that makes 6 then I'm sure there is 2 in the back on the shelf like the current car that makes 8 Is the other 4 going to be the backs are Tri axis. My guess.

If it has a center speaker anda total of 12 speakers then that would suggest there is one sub.

Here's a picture of the Pro Sub in the trunk:
(Note the new enclosure design).

And how much the sub sticks out in the trunk:

I'm hoping that the 9-speaker (Premium) sound, perhaps except for the lowest bass notes, is sufficiently good such that I can avoid paying $1795 and reducing/uglifying the trunk space.

I believe that the 9 speaker premium system is equivalent to the old shaker system in the old mustang gt's, the new shaker pro system has 12 speakers, so my guess is that the old gt radios are getting stuffed into a base premium option, and even better equipment for the new ones.

Yeah, I went ahead and ordered the 401A for the HD Radio/Shaker Pro, etc. I'm curious of the placement for the 12 speakers. It's easy to see that 6 of them are for the front door/pillars, but not sure about the other 6. In the past there were 1 or 2 subwoofers in the trunk, so I'm curious what going to be in the rear deck.
Hey JoeDogInKC,

I finally got a visual for you! Check out the photo below for the speaker placement.

FYI for all those that do not know the 2015 Mustang Build and Price is up.

Click here and check it out!

Don’t forget to reach out to me for the status of your orders or if you have any inquiries.

I know with the old Mustangs the Shaker 1000 subwoofer would prevent you from being able to fold down the rear seats -- is that still the case? Or does the rear-seat fold down work even with the Shaker sub?

Just asking because I ordered the Shaker sub on my 2015, but I fold down the rear seats in my 2011 pretty often to transport large things.

No effect at all folding down the seats. I have the 13 with the sub. Doesn't really get in the way at all. And the pics above show the 15 is slimmer. Hope it still kicks like the 13's do.

2 in each door. 2 Tweeters in the A Pillar. 2 in the Rear Deck, and the Sub in the Trunk. That's the 9 I know of. Don't know where the rest would be unless the Rear Deck Speakers are 2 Ways and there is a Center Chanel Speaker in the Top Middle of the Dash above the AC Vents. That would bring the count to 12.
