When I turn on the interior system without running the engine with the entertainment system off...I get a noise from all the speakers that sounds like gentle rain hitting the roof. The first time I was in my garage reading the manual with the electronics on but with the engine off. It sounded like rain hitting the garage roof...I looked out the open door but the sun was shining!
I turned on the entertainment system and the 'rain' stopped.
Is this a normal occurrence, I have never had a car which turned on the amplifier system when the 'radio' wasn't also turned on?

I've noticed the subwoofer always makes a hissing noise, even with everything off including the interior lights. It seems odd that the amps would be powered up all the time and I wonder how much it's drawing from the battery.

It's possible the factory sub is grounded with the rear exterior marker lights, which come on when the proximity key is detected, I believe. Could be picking up noise from that loop.
