I understand and appreciate the concern. Not sure how it is elsewhere, but at my dealership, the service department uses the same part time "drivers" that sales uses for dealer swaps, etc. Those folks are older responsible drivers - generally retired. T
My wife dropped her older car at our indy mechanic a year or so ago, and he offered her a ride home. The "driver" was an older (75+) gentleman who clearly had the job as a way to be around people. As they were about to leave, our indy told my wife "You might want to drive his car to your house. He drives REALLY slowly."

I just had it done b4 the cv madness and I always wait for it. Took nearly 2 hours but I did some work remotely keeping a good distance away from everyone.

I don't think I have ever dropped off my car for an oil change. If that was the case, I would just change it myself.

Typically, I do my own. But, this is one of the free ones from the 42k FordPass points, I want them to check the wheel speed sensors in the back after a traction control issue, and it needs to go in for the annual state inspection anyway.

Well, since my immune system is compromised and I care more for my wife than I do about a piece of metal sitting in my driveway, considering the current circumstances it would be an easy decision. Our whole state goes under a stay at home order effective tomorrow.

My wife's grandfather used to drive and deliver customer cars for several area dealers. I helped out on several occasions with deliveries. He was 81 and I was 63. We always treated customer cars with respect.

We are as well, although my company is classified as essential, as is auto repair. In any event, I can drop it off after hours, then just pick it up and wipe the contact surfaces down before I drive it home.
