I know, but i wont break 24k in 3 years, so will at least stop the whole 'MOT and service' being needed before the first after 3 years
Nah mate I might misunderstand you but even if you have only done 100 miles in a year, they suggest you still service it then. So by the time you come to MOT it, it should have been serviced at least 3 times if that makes sense.

regards

Once. ;)

Once after 2 years, and then the MOT is due after 3.

The manuals don't normally tell you these days and I think this is no exception. Ford told me 10k when I was in the other day but these things are a movable feast. I have a 64plate Mondeo which I bought nearly used. It was 12,500 service intervals when I bought it but by the time I reached that they had changed it to 18,000 miles or annual. I'll be doing 12 months max regardless in my Mustang. EB owners might want to do more often if they are cooking the lubricant in their turbo bearings.

BTW - Ford give you 12 months rescue and recovery when you have the car serviced with them.

Pretty sure i'm dropping in a Catch Can the day I pick the car up, so, shouldn't be too much for me...

Catch can won't help this. I'm talking about heat soak of the lubricant that sits in the turbo bearings when you shut down. i.e. let it run a while after you've had a blast before you shut it down.

Just remember for resale purchases that yearly is a good idea.

If I'm buying a second hand car I want to see it serviced at least once a year.

I know we're not buying these cars thinking about resale but that time will come one day.

Plus engines are expensive if they go pop!

Just spoken to my sales person and she says ford haven't released any servicing packages as yet for the the UK. She will look into it and let me know.

I forgot that they do offer recovery etc if continuously serviced with Ford which is a nice touch!

1 year or 8,000-16,000 KM whichever comes first on a good, quality full synthetic.

The factory fill is a synthetic blend, I would not go over 5,000-12,000 KM or 1 year on it.

The intervals depend widely on how you drive. Miss Daisy? Follow longer intervals, never longer than 1 year changes regardless of miles. Drive in the higher RPM range and like WOT? Shorter intervals.

Yes, the car has an "oil life monitor" that determines roughly the amount of life remaining based on several factors, but it is on the high side in general.

That's not driving, that's just messing about. You need to do a proper commute....

Anyone have any experience with Ford service techs?
I would much prefer mine to go to a specialist. Don't really fancy having some young lad playing with a mustang when he's normally servicing KA's
My recent experience is good including them emailing you a video of the initial health check of the underside before they start. Things have moved on.

the label my dealer put on the car reckons 1 year or 12,500 miles what ever comes first. but that's the same as both Fiestas and the Focus ST i had. I've always been told that the best practice on any engine is once a year.
