Once. ;)

Once after 2 years, and then the MOT is due after 3.
You crazy mainlanders, don't you know that the MOT is due after 4 years

That's not driving, that's just messing about. You need to do a proper commute....
Go get me a parking spot under my offices and watch it skyrocket

According to the official Service Portfolio booklet supplied by the dealer on delivery which I understand did not come with the car so may be standard for the current whole Ford range and lists Ford models from B-Max to Transit Custom.

the line for Mustang states engine All Service Interval (Whichever Occurs First) 12 months, 10,000 ml (15,000 km).

Thanks, looks like i'll be sticking to this, and as people say, cheaper to keep it clean than lose an engine.

Anyone have any experience with Ford service techs?
I would much prefer mine to go to a specialist. Don't really fancy having some young lad playing with a mustang when he's normally servicing KA's
Not for many years as I've learned my lesson and over the years, ran out of Ford main dealers that I've vowed never to go anywhere near. Sloppy work and dishonesty do seem to be the norm, rather than the exception. It's not just that you end up with 'the lad', but there seems to be an excepted culture that it's OK to blatantly rob the customer. I haven't lived in a city/town where the Ford main dealers don't have an poor reputation in their local area, but they still do OK as there's no shortage of fleet work and customers generally have the perception that they have to go to the main dealer to keep their warranty.

A few people on here have said their salesman has been great. However, it's not as if Mr hair-gel and pearly whites will have anything to do with service or repairs. After handing over your cash, you then enter the dark realm of 'after-sales'!

I was told 10K/1 year by my salesman. I think this is pretty much an oil change (which I'd want to do at 10K anyway). I'd rather do this myself but I gather to maintain the warranty, service work has to be done by a VAT registered garage.

I don't think I'd dare take into a dealer, but don't know any specialists in my area. Not that you need a specialist to do an oil change. Might make a day of it going down to Bill Shepherd to drool at the other cars. At my current mileage rate, 10K will be coming around in few months!

Pretty sure i'm dropping in a Catch Can the day I pick the car up, so, shouldn't be too much for me...
I've got a catch can in my garage, waiting to be fitted when I get chance. I'd never heard of one before joining this forum and I don't even know what it is or what it does, to this day. All I know is that a 'man in the pub' said its an absolute necessity?!?!?!?

All the yanks have said the same, basically it catches excess oil that would be otherwise trapped in the engine...

This site has more info that I could ever paraphrase:

I know, I just have no idea whether such a device makes the slightest bit of difference to engine life in reality. All I know is that I've spent about ÂŁ150 importing a tin can and a bit of hose from the states! Still - everyone needs a hobby.

From the states? you can buy them in the UK!. They do something, i'm sure one of our bigger engineer guys can give a steer on it, or one of the US owners with a OCC on their EB. (think the OCC is a little less neededed in the GT)

Stateside n believe the interval is 24,000 miles, over here it's definitely 10,000 miles. No idea why.
No service plans in place yet either, dealer reckons the EB service cost will be on par with the Focus RS.

I used to have a car with a K-series V6 (Variable Intake System) Spent oil could get into the units containing the motors that actuated the VIS and if this oil contained tiny fragments of metal from from engine wear, it could cause short circuits that would knacker the actuators. Fitting a catch can seemed to reduce the chances of this somewhat as well as keeping the plenum and throttle body etc cleaner.

Most people didn't buy catch cans, they made them out of old jam jars!

That is not true. Refer to my previous post.
