That's how I'm seeing it too. This car isn't built for range, it's built to tear up the track and drag strip.
Its basically Fords version of the eCOPO Camaro at last years SEMA. They want to show what the possibilities are without showing off production plans quite yet.

The future looks like eventually it's gonna go from who has the biggest/most powerful engine to who has the biggest/most powerful motors.

900 hp and a stick. The purest are going to loose their minds.

Why can’t Ford put a manual in the GT500. Blah blah blah.

They will also have the typical auto, if thats what you call them in EV's, no way in hell will they only release it in a manual.
Of course, but the point is that we might still have the option. The electric future was looking like one without transmissions, but Ford may have just changed that.

Yes, but couldn't you say the same about Tesla
Can someone explain how an Electric vehicle uses a manual trans?
Let's see..... the gas pedal you think you are pressing in the GT350 or GT500? It's a potentiometer.... an electrical switch that varies resistance. There are no cables to a carburetor or throttle body. Nada. So you have a fancy thermostat controlling an electrical motor. Think of it as a petrol engine at that point. A shaft that produces X amount of HP and torque. Just like a petrol engine, it needs a transmission. The rest is as you know it.
