Hey guys! I'm having a problem with my 2017 Mustang GT. The seat cooling works, but when I turn on the heater, everything stops working (heating and cooling).
The fuses are good, the filter is clean, the connectors are fine... What could it be? :(
If I switch off the car, then on, seat cooling works again no issues, until I press heating and then all stops working.

Did you look at the connector under the passenger seat, actually unplug it from the module and inspect it?. Seems the ground wire burning in that connector was a very common problem.

Hello Jccams, thank you for replying.
Yes, the mechanic checked every single one of them and used this connector spray cleaner. Everything looks good.
Filter looks nice and clean too.
The cooling works now (even if I switch ON the heating and then back the cooling) but the heating is not working at all.

AI is telling me to replace the DCSM and the Wiring Harness Pigtail Connector. Also recommends to buy the whole "set" so basically the "Module with Pigtail"Kit.

The module from your “AI” queries is the module mentioned in a few threads on here… as well as the plug connector.. it’s the same mentioned by others in the above responses. Just because the connector may “look ok” per your mechanic, doesn’t mean it is…. Also did your mechanic run any tests on the module, or remove it from under the seat?

If you’re hearing the clicking but the seat heating/cooling function is not working, then see this thread which outlined the heated/cooled seat module problem:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/heated-cooled-seats-mystery.152156/

This thread is about members who have found that the harness connector was shorted - but in most instances it affects the seat heating/cooling aspect.

Hi Cobra, thank you for your 2cents.
In my case all connectors looked ok.
Also the strange thing is cooling now works perfectly in both seats; heating does not work at all.

I bought a new module and the WHPC.

Did the mechanic that looked at the seat heater pull any codes from the module? You may have a shorted Thermo Electric Device in either the seat base or the seat back. The module will monitor the temperature output of both TED's and if it reads a large difference in temperature output between the two TED's it will shut off the output to both of them and disable the fans in the seat until you cycle the ignition key.

Hey hate to hijack the thread, but relating to this ... Does the passenger side harness being burnt out, also affect the driver side heated/cooled from working? I just checked and mine is definitely burned out, but no burned out harness under the driver seat..

I believe both seats are controlled by the same module under the passenger seat. My understanding is there was a single ground wire which was carrying too mush current causing the burn. I think the fix adds a second ground wire. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

B272D - Passenger Differential Temperature Fault

You most likely have a shorted out TED in each of your seats. You will just have to figure out which one is bad for each seat.

Correct, both seats are controlled by the module under the passenger seat. The undersized ground wire seems to be one culprit and fix. But there has also been discussion about a newer control module. I just went through the same issue on my '16. I did not have a visibly burned connector, but the symptoms were the same as the OP's.

So far all I've done is replace the control module with an aftermarket unit and it has fixed the issue completely. We'll see how long it lasts, though.

Did further tests today with an 8k computer from a friend. Those are new codes.
